✨ Applications are OPEN for the Live Your Dream Awards! ✨

Soroptimist International of Eugene is now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 Live Your Dream: Education and Training Awards for Women, a unique education award for women who provide the primary financial support for their families. The Live Your Dream Awards give women the resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects.

This year, Soroptimist International of Eugene will award a total of $20,000 in cash grants to be divided among local recipients.

The Live Your Dream Awards are open to women who:
• Are the primary financial support for themselves and their dependents
• Are enrolled in or have been accepted to an undergraduate degree, vocational or skills-training program
• Have financial need
• Are motivated to achieve their education and career goals

Unlike many traditional scholarships, Live Your Dream Awards provide recipients with flexibility in how the funds are used. Awards can help cover expenses associated with pursuing an education or career training, including tuition, books, childcare, transportation and other needs that can make continuing an education possible.
The application deadline is November 15, 2026.

Please SHARE this post. You never know who in our community may need this opportunity.

IT'S OFFICIAL. History has been made at the United Nations.

The General Assembly has unanimously adopted a resolution declaring 27 November the International Day to End Child, Early, and Forced Marriage — brought forward by Sierra Leone and co-sponsored by more than 66 countries.

Soroptimist International applauds this resolution, and the years of advocacy from campaigners across the globe who made this moment possible.

The message is clear: our girls are not brides.

In August 1926, representatives from 10 Soroptimist clubs gathered in Oakland, California, to consider a question that would shape the organization’s future: Should the independent clubs come together as a federation?
