Each summer, two of the weeklong choir events occur as part of a two-year cycle featuring the following schedule:

On even numbered years

Youth Choral Festival – (children/youth choirs thru age 18)
Young Women’s Choral Festival (female choirs thru age 18)

and odd numbered years

Treble Choral Festival – (boys, girls and mixed treble choirs)
Boys & Young Men’s Choral Festival (male choirs thru ag

picfest is intentionally noncompetitive, with emphasis on the highest level of musical artistry, collaboration and building friendships that carry on long after the festival week. Choirs are selected through an application process that includes recorded performances, recent programming history and other supporting materials. Space is limited to 300 singers, so the only competition is in being one of the choirs invited to participate. Choirs and their music staff and chaperones are housed on the beautiful University of Oregon campus. The days are filled with rehearsals, workshops, performances, participation in selected Bach Festival events, shared meals, social events and a variety of recreation options.
