Get your phones ready, the 2026 Mycoblitz starts today and we want your fungal observations!

The Mycoblitz will take place October 15 – October 24 and include your photos of mushrooms observed in Lane County and uploaded to iNaturalist. These observations will be identified by experts and complement the display of specimens at the Mushroom Festival on October 25th.

Last call to join the scarecrow contest at this year's Mushroom Festival on October 25th!

Competitors set up the Saturday before the Festival and get free entry to the event on Sunday. Festival attendees will vote on the best scarecrows and winners will be announced at the end of the Festival!

Join Clara-Julia Peru, multidisciplinary artist, poet, photographer, educator, and nature-based grief guide in this 2-hour gathering which bridges native ecology, grief-informed practice, and creative expression. Together, we will explore how local ecosystems embrace shedding, dormancy, and decay to nourish future growth.

Warm Gathering: We will begin under cover with a cup of warm, seasonal herbal tea, grounding ourselves through gentle breathwork and intention-setting.
Mindful Trail Walk: Guided along accessible paths, we will observe the resilience of the forest understory—from unfurling licorice ferns, emerging mushrooms, and vibrant mosses to dormant Oregon White Oaks and late-fall bird activity.
Expressive Reflection & Writing: Pausing in nature, we will use gentle prompts to explore our personal seasons of shedding.
Tactile Mixed-Media Art: Transitioning to a cozy, shelter-covered space, we will weave botanical fragments, recycled papers, and paint into a layered mixed-media collage—turning fall elements into meaningful art.
Leave with a restored connection to the land, a unique seasonal artwork, and a deeper appreciation for the beauty found in life’s quiet transitions.
