Thereā€™s nothing quite like seeing a colony of honey bees up close.

Last night, Save the Bee was proud to bring our live honey bee observation hive to the opening of The Buzz About Bees at Museum of Natural and Cultural History - Museum of Natural and Cultural History.

For many visitors, it was their first time watching thousands of bees working together in real time. You can see the workers tending brood, storing nectar, communicating, and, if youā€™re lucky, even spot the queenā€¦or a drone!

Itā€™s a reminder that every berry, almond, squash, apple, and wildflower begins with work like this.

Bees arenā€™t just making honey.

Theyā€™re helping feed the world.

If youā€™re in Eugene this weekend or over the next marvel month stop by the exhibit and spend a few minutes with one of natureā€™s most remarkable communities. We think youā€™ll leave seeing bees a little differently.

Thank you to the Museum of Natural and Cultural History for inviting us to be part of this amazing exhibit and the opening weekend. Weā€™re honored to help connect more people with the incredible story of pollinators.

Beef šŸ„© and the BEE! šŸ

At Longā€™s Meat Market today 11-3pm talking beef, bees, and what it means to know where your food comes from.

Collin shared how they source beef from local ranches like Anderson Ranch and Knee Deep Cattle Company right here in Oregon. These ranchers grow their own flax and alfalfa, raise cattle on pasture, and stay connected to the land that supports their animals.

That connection matters.

The same fields producing forage crops for cattle depend on healthy soil, thriving ecosystems, and pollinators. Bees support the plants that support agriculture. Agriculture supports local communities.

Different products. Same foundation.

One thing that stood out was the commitment to local sourcing. The closer we are to the people who grow our food, the more we understand the work, stewardship, and relationships behind every meal.

And yes, we couldnā€™t resist bringing along our live observation hive. It sparked a lot of great conversations about the role bees play in agriculture far beyond honey.
