We want to send a huge CONGRATS out to John Stapleton, of PIVOT Architecture, for being nominated as Oregon’s Workforce Champion! John has played a pivotal role in leading Team Oregon Build/Constructing a Brighter Future, a project empowering youth to serve Oregon’s communities through service-based construction projects.

Since March, Team Oregon Build has expanded to serve 22 counties, reaching 11,115 student classroom experiences across 86 unique schools. Through John’s leadership and guidance, Team Oregon Build has received 417 orders from Construction CTE Classrooms, growing significantly from the initial grassroots effort of building 14 units in 2023.

John does so much for our community, let's take a moment to do something for him: online voting is open through October 21. Follow the link to show your support and gratitude for all he does.

We were delighted to see the community turn out to celebrate the grand opening of Tip Tap Grow! We love to see entrepreneurs grow and thrive! Even better when their success benefits our community in such a profound way. Not only has Tip Tap Grown expanded availability of high quality child care in our area, it has done so through an innovative collaboration with Lane County. With Lane County's investment, Tip Tap Grow is positioned to offer its providers equitable compensation, thereby increasing local wages and ensuring long-term commitments from highly qualified staff. In exchange, Lane County will receive priority access to a number of Tip Tap Grow's available slots. Now, that's a win-win!

Though we are grateful to see the ice beginning to thaw, we know much of our community is assessing damages, attempting repairs, and many are still without power. We have decided to cancel tomorrow's Startup Coffee Meetup in response to the emergency, but we look forward to seeing all of you next month on Thursday, February 15.
