We're gearing up for our 2nd annual Summer Music Camp 🥳 If you know a youth age 11-15 (middle schooler) who is interested in music, songwriting, producing etc... Sign them up ‼️ The camp will be held in Eugene during Labor Day Weekend. No experience required. Each camper will receive hands on experience with drums, ukulele and piano/melodica & leave with their very own original composition plus the tools to start making music independently 🙌 SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE 🎉

It's been a busy, busy year for the MEC!! We have one final project for 2023: The Gus Jackson Memorial Scholarship.

This is a very meaningful project for us. To honor our friend Gus’ memory, his music and his impact, Gus’ family and the MEC have partnered to create this scholarship for an aspiring guitar player. We know that music helps keep kids on a better path and out of trouble. The application is open to low income/at risk youth in Lane County age 11-17 who have expressed particular interest or aptitude in music. Submissions are to be received by December 21, 2023. We are grateful for the opportunity to announce the opening of a very meaningful project for us: The Gus Jackson Memorial Scholarship ✨ This opportunity is for a low-income/at-risk youth age 11-17 who has interest or particular aptitude for guitar. The chosen recipient will receive $1,600 towards an instrument, materials, and education from a local educator of their choosing. Hand-written copies to be submitted to our PO Box (Box 1551 Eugene, OR 97440) or check out www.musiceducationcollective.com/gusjackson for the digital application form. Please make sure applications are received by December 21st, 2023.
