My flowers bring the bees to the yard, that's right! Let's see pictures of what is blooming in your yard right now!!

May is when pollinator traffic peaks. What you plant now feeds them straight through summer. These 12 plants establish fast in warm soil and start producing nectar within weeks.

- Lavender β€” transplant potted starts into full sun and sharp-draining soil. Heavy bee traffic once established

- Bee balm β€” plant divisions or starts in morning sun. Tubular flowers pull hummingbirds and long-tongued bumblebees

- Borage β€” direct sow after frost. Refills nectar rapidly, making it one of the most revisited plants by bees

- Catmint β€” transplant into full sun with lean soil. Blooms late May through October with minimal deadheading

- Coneflower β€” plant starts in full sun. Deep taproots handle summer heat and the wide blooms serve pollinators of all sizes

- Milkw**d (butterfly w**d) β€” plant potted native species suited to your region. Monarch caterpillar host and heavy nectar source

- Anise hyssop β€” transplant into well-drained soil after frost. Flower spikes are among the most heavily visited by native bees

- Sweet alyssum β€” direct sow as a living border. Tiny clustered blooms attract hoverflies and beneficial wasps that also suppress aphids

- Cosmos β€” direct sow after frost. Germinates quickly and feeds small bees and butterflies with open daisy-form blooms

- Black-eyed Susan β€” plant starts or direct sow in full sun. Drought-tough once established, feeding native bees into September

- Meadow sage β€” transplant after frost. Dense blue-purple spikes attract bees and hummingbirds and rebloom after a midsummer cut

- Native viburnum β€” plant container stock with room to spread. Flat flower clusters feed dozens of pollinator species and the berries fuel fall migration

Plant the flowers. The pollinators are already looking for them 🌱
