Have you heard of restorative wildcrafting?

Restorative wildcrafting is the practice of harvesting invasive plants in a way that supports the health and vitality of native ecosystems. As an added bonus, many of these invasive species can be transformed into useful herbal remedies!

If that sounds like something you'd love to learn more about, you're in luck.
On Saturday, June 20, Kassaundra, owner of Rooted Remedies, is partnering with Friends to lead a hands-on workshop focused on creating a Saint John's Wort tincture. During this class, you'll learn how to identify, responsibly harvest, and prepare your own tincture while gaining a deeper understanding of the plants growing around us.

Saint John's Wort has a long history of use in herbal traditions and is best known for supporting emotional well-being, while also being valued for its topical applications and connection to nervous system health.

This is a unique opportunity to explore the fascinating world of medicinal plants, learn a practical new skill, and support local land stewardship. A portion of all proceeds will be donated to Friends to help support our stewardship work and Native Plant Nursery.

Spots are limited, so sign up today!

For many in our community, Mt. Pisgah is more than a park. It’s a place of tradition, reflection, recreation, and connection to the natural world.

Right now on the east side of Howard Buford Recreation Area, camas fields are beginning to bloom again — a visible result of stewardship work, including prescribed burning and reseeding efforts Friends of Buford Park & Mt. Pisgah has heavily supported and helped lead alongside partners.

Camas has long been an important cultural and ecological part of this landscape.

Right now, every donation made through our May Match campaign will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $20,000, doubling your impact.

Your support helps steward trails, restore native habitat, propagate native plants, and continue the stewardship work that keeps places like Mt. Pisgah healthy, accessible, and ecologically vibrant for future generations.

If this place has ever meant something to you, now is a meaningful time to give back.

Support the stewardship work behind these blooms and double your impact through our May Match campaign. Click here: https://friendsofbufordparkmtpisgah.ddock.gives/?givingPageId=058008b0-de6f-4b59-b0a5-aae47e800fb8
