🐾 WE’RE HIRING: PART-TIME SHELTER CAREGIVER
📍 Southern Souls Animal League | Eufaula, AL
Weekend availability is required.

We’re looking for someone dependable, patient, and willing to work—and we want to be honest about what this job takes.

There will be p**p. There will be barking. There will be laundry that somehow never ends. You’ll scrub kennels, scoop litter boxes, wash bowls, clean up accidents, feed animals, and then clean some more.

The work involves standing, bending, scrubbing, and carrying supplies. You’ll get dirty, sweaty, and covered in animal hair. Some days are emotionally hard, too. We care for animals who have been neglected, abandoned, frightened, or sick, and earning their trust takes time.

Loving animals is essential. Following through on their care is what makes the difference.

We need someone who will:

* Show up on time and consistently work their scheduled shifts, including weekends.
* Follow cleaning, sanitation, and animal-handling instructions carefully.
* Notice and report when an animal isn’t eating, seems sick, or is acting differently.
* Stay gentle and patient with scared animals and messy situations.
* Work well with others, take direction, and finish the everyday tasks that keep everyone safe.

The animals depend on us for clean beds, fresh water, meals, exercise, and kindness—every single day.

You also get to see a frightened dog start wagging its tail, a sick kitten regain its strength, and an animal you’ve cared for finally go home. Your work helps make those moments possible.

📧 To apply, email your résumé or a summary of your qualifications to [email protected]. Include your contact information and the days and times you can work, including weekends.

Please do not message the page about this position. Applications must be sent by email.

Please share and help us find someone our animals can count on. ❤️
