We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Bishop Ruby-Nell Estrella for joining us at East Shore United Methodist Church this morning and sharing a powerful message of faith, hope, and God’s abundant grace.

Bishop Estrella made history as the first woman elected bishop in the Philippines Central Conference of The United Methodist Church and currently serves the Manila Episcopal Area. Her journey from accountant to pastor, district superintendent, and bishop is a remarkable testimony to God’s call and faithful service. Throughout her ministry, she has broken barriers, championed women in leadership, and served the church at every level with humility and compassion.

We were honored to welcome such an inspiring leader and witness her passion for Christ and the global church. Thank you, Bishop Estrella, for blessing our congregation with your presence and your message.

Today we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice reminds us of the cost of freedom and the importance of living with compassion, gratitude, and hope.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, may we also pause in prayer for those who mourn, for veterans and active service members, and for peace throughout the world.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

Today, we celebrate the incredible women who have shaped our lives with love, strength, and grace. 💐

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers, grandmothers, stepmothers, spiritual mothers, and those who nurture and care for others in ways big and small. Your compassion and faith make a lasting difference in our world.

We also hold space today for those who may find this day difficult; those missing their mothers, longing to be mothers, or carrying complex emotions. You are seen, loved, and not alone.

“Her children rise up and call her blessed…” - Proverbs 31:28
