Spent yesterday afternoon out on patrol. A lot of people had the day off due to the holiday. I got to meet a lot of nice people who were enjoying the beautiful weather
The one stop that stands out is my foot patrol at Sims Park.
I came across a group off approximately 50 + kids of all ages from Good to Great Summer camp... under the supervision of some amazing camp leaders, all having a nice picnic & a lot of fun 😊 These kids were so well mannered and respectful . I can't tell you how many times I heard "please" & "thank you" & I lost count of the number of kids who came up to hug me. Needless to say, I totally ran out of badges 😂. These camp leaders not only led by example, they are truly setting the foundation in these children to be the leaders of tomorrow.

I also met some amazing teens on East 214 near Edgecliff with a lemonade Bubble Pup stand that was on a totally different level ❤️

At the end of the day on my way back to the station, I stopped at the Euclid citizens garden on Milton behind the police station where I met 2 amazing ladies. We are so fortunate to have this special plot of land where Euclid residents can plant a garden. There are numerous gardens and each is a labor of love. As I looked at each garden, I couldn't help but think that gardens are a lot like people. Parents are gardeners of the future. If we wish to harvest a generation of kindness, patience, and strength, we must be intentional about the seeds we scatter into their young lives from the day they are born.
We don't just raise children; we have to "cultivate" them.. each & every day, giving them the nourishment & skills needed to become productive responsible adults. If we don't take the time to do this while they are young & growing, they can be surrounded by "weeds", & not grow to their full potential. Everything that matters takes time and effort. Life reminds us that we reap what we sow, making the early seeds of parental guidance the most critical crop we will ever plant.
