What great weather today for the Trunk or Treat at our Lady of Lake School on Lakeshore. Lots of scary creatures, which included EPD and EFD, but luckily there were lots of "police officers, SWAT, & special ops" on hand to help out 😉

Wow! What a great turnout today. I bet today's Lunch with a Cop at Maria's had to be one of the most attended that I've seen.
Thanks to everyone who came out. We got to meet a lot of really nice people, and had some great discussions.

And a special guest appearance was made by the one and only Fred Stoldt ❤️❤️

Retired Euclid Auxiliary Officer, Sandy Buchko Burrows, 2003 - 2007.

I just heard about this today. She passed away November 18, 2023
I knew Sandy Buchko Burrows when she worked at Euclid Police Department as a corrections officer, and then as a auxiliary police officer. We became friends and worked together often. She joined the Aux Unit in 2003 and retired in 2007. She later moved the East Coast with her husband, who she adored

September 12. National Police Women's Day

Acknowledging and celebrating the contributions of all female police officers who enforce law and order, while actively encouraging more women to join the law enforcement profession.

A special shout out to all of my fellow female officers at EPD... You are all amazing ❤️🇺🇸

National Police Women’s Day is celebrated each year on September 12. The day acknowledges and celebrates the contribution of female police officers who enforce law and order around the country. We honor those who paved the way for future generations of women in this profession. Today only roughly 10% of the police force in the U.S. is made up of women. National Police Women's Day hopes to rectify that by encouraging more women to join the service.

Just a little history here, in 1910 Alice Stebbins Wells was the first female police officer to have arrest powers when she was hired by the Los Angeles Police Department, although she wasn't allowed to carry a gun. In 1915, Alice was responsible for starting the International Policewomen's Association after other cities and countries started hiring female officers. She was promoted to Sergeant in 1934, and she retired in 1940. Alice Stebbins Wells passed away in 1957. She is remembered for having "fought for the idea that women, as regular members of municipal police departments, are particularly well-qualified to perform protective and preventative work."

Today, the Euclid Police Department honors the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001. We remember the victims, their families, and the communities forever changed by that day.

We also recognize the courage of the first responders who ran toward danger, many of whom made the ultimate sacrifice, and many others who continue to face lasting health effects from their service at the attack sites.

Twenty‑five years later, the men and women of the Euclid Police Department stand with our community and our nation in remembering every life lost and every hero who answered the call.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Sworn into EPD in 1977 & retiring as a sergeant in 2010, we remember & thank you for your 33 years of service. You had a smile that no one could forget. Rest in peace 🇺🇸❤️

To show our support, Euclid Auxiliary Police administrative officers Tarantino, Ayers & myself, along with Aux. Gorshe attended the swearing in ceremony this morning of a new Euclid Auxiliary Police Officer, Steve Robinson. Also sworn in were & 2 new regular officers.

Each of these new officers is a welcome addition to our department. Their bios were extremely impressive and I can't wait to work with them ❤️🇺🇸......
