Beautiful Hera went home with dad and her cute new canine sibling today! The dogs got along wonderfully together so we can foresee many great walks and field trips together. Pet Pals is thrilled with Hera's adoption. Congratulations from all of us! β€πŸ•β€

Tomorrow marks one week since Bonnie underwent surgery to correct her painful entropion, a condition that caused her eyelashes to rub against her eyes every time she blinked. It was the reason she spent so much time squinting and why her eyes were often irritated and swollen.

We're happy to report that Bonnie is doing fantastic

In true Bonnie fashion, she has already managed a few Houdini-style escapes her recovery cones. But that's part of why she's so loved. She's such a character.

Most importantly, Bonnie is healing beautifully. Dr. Malak at Lakeland Animal Clinic and Urgent Care
did a wonderful job with her surgery, and she is expected to make a full recovery. Even the ulcers on her eyes have improved dramatically. Just a few weeks ago, we weren't sure how well her eyes would heal, so seeing her progress has been amazing.

To everyone who has donated, shared her story, and kept Bonnie in your thoughts and prayersβ€”thank you. We are incredibly humbled by the love and support you've shown this special girl.

We'll be sharing updates coming soon on the other two dogs recently featured by Euclid Pet Pals as well.

And one more thing... Bonnie's DNA results are in! We were quite surprised by them. We still think there might be a little Shar-Pei hidden somewhere in that mix, but regardless, she's 100% adorable. ❀️🐾

At some point overnight, a deceased dog was abandoned in an area that is largely out of sight. The dog, an older female pit mix with white fur and rich brown brindle patches, was place with this robe on the ground and left behind without any information.

Based on her condition, the dog appeared to have suffered from significant neglect or at the very least very underweight.

We are hoping to identify her and learn more about her circumstances. Please contact the shelter. Even the smallest detail could help provide answers.

Roxanne and Angel may not have come into the shelter together, but they sure made great walking buddies today. πŸΎβ˜€οΈ

These two girls spent their Monday morning enjoying some fresh air, sunshine, and plenty of sniffing. Angel, of course, made time for a good grass-roll session while Roxanne happily enjoyed the adventure alongside her. πŸŒ±πŸ˜‚

Both girls are still looking for their forever homes and have done well with other dogs so far. We'd also love a few more dog-walking volunteers to help our shelter pups enjoy days like this!

We hope you're having a wonderful Monday, too. ❀️🐾

πŸΎπŸ’• Meet Roxanne πŸ’•πŸΎ

Roxanne came to us as a surrender, and while change can be scary, this sweet girl has started truly come out of her shell. These days, she's happiest enjoying a nice walk, relaxing in the shade, sneaking kisses, and soaking up time with her favorite people. πŸ₯Ήβ€οΈ

She has the gentlest soul, a heart full of love, and a calm, easygoing personality. Roxanne seems to enjoy the company of other dogs, walks beautifully on a leash, and would thrive in a home that appreciates the quieter things in life.

The best way to describe Roxanne? She's the kind of dog that makes a house feel like home. Whoever adopts her is going to be incredibly lucky. 🐾✨

Animal Control recently recieved a call from city employees working along the lakefront after they spotted a small dog curled up on the rocks.

What followed was approximately 2.5 hours of tactical planning, patient negotiations, two bags of treats, and enough crouching, sitting, and baby talk to make us believe we were finally getting somewhere.

Every time we got close, something would spook her. A passing car. A gust of wind. A strange noise. Back to square one.

After exhausting just about every trick we had, one of the city workers showed up and did exactly what we'd been doing most of the afternoon. He sat down and her come to him.

That's it. That was the strategy.
Within minutes she climbed into his lap for pets and cuddles. A few minutes later, he simply picked her up and carried her away like they'd known each other for years.

Meanwhile, Animal Control was standing there with two empty treat bags, 2.5 hours invested, mouths dropped, and a rapidly developing identity crisis. πŸ˜…

So after all of that this little dog reminded us of a valuable lesson: Sometimes the mission isn't impossible... you're just not the chosen one. πŸ˜‚πŸΎ

Please note: This dog is currently NOT available for adoption.
