Their generous sponsorship helps us continue providing traditional Appalachian music education to students in grades 3–11 throughout the Tennessee Overhill.

Overhill JAM gives young musicians the opportunity to learn instruments like fiddle, banjo, guitar, and mandolin while keeping the musical traditions of Appalachia alive for the next generation.

Our first fall session begins Thursday, September 10th from 4:30–6:00 p.m. at the historic L&N Depot in Etowah.

Overhill JAM is Back for the Summer!

Get ready to pick, strum, and play! Our Overhill JAM Summer Session begins this Thursday, June 11, from 4:30–6:00 PM at the L&N Depot in Etowah.

Students will have the opportunity to learn and grow their skills in:
🪕 Banjo
🎻 Fiddle
🎶 Mandolin
🎸 Guitar

The summer session runs June 11 through July 16 and is a great way for young musicians to continue developing their talents while having fun with friends and fellow pickers.

We can't wait to see returning JAMmers and welcome new students for another exciting season of music!

Sign-ups for our Summer Session open May 8th.

Give your child the opportunity to learn traditional Appalachian music in a fun, supportive environment. Students can learn banjo, fiddle, guitar, or mandolin. No experience is necessary, and loaner instruments are provided.

Classes run June 11th through July 16th and will be held Thursdays from 4:30 to 6:00 PM at the Depot. Open to 3rd-8th graders in McMinn and Polk counties.

The cost is $35 for the 6-week session. Discounted fees and full scholarships are available.
