Today is the day! Our first film roles at 3:10pm. We hope to see you there! See our schedule: https://www.flixxfest.org/2024-schedule.html - You can still buy tix online, but we suggest you just show up in person and buy that at the box office today.

We want to take just a minute to thank our sponsors.

Starting with Etna Brewing Company, who will be hosting a Opening Night mixer tonight, with live music from 7-9pm, amazing food and incredible beer!

Tomorrow night Denny Bar Company, will be hosting our closing night party, they plan on keeping their pizza oven open late for us, with two Flixx Fest themed drinks, come mingle with some filmmakers!

Both will be open during the festival, we'll have their menus on hand, so you can call in order, or if you're looking for a lunch break, we hope you'll pay one of them a visit during the fest.

They're both an easy walk from the Etna Avery Theatre, who is another sponsor of ours, who without we of course couldn't hold the festival in Etna. This theater holds a special place in my heart, I remember seeing E.T. there in 1982, when I was 6-years old, and that started my 42 year love affair with movies. I even got to work there briefly in the 90's in high school. The Etna Avery Theatre is a staple of this small town, and I'm so happy that it's still going strong.

Our last sponsor is the Etna Police Activities League, who comes up big for us every year. They're an incredible resource in the community giving families wonderful afterschool programs, and yearly community events like their upcoming Holiday Gathering on Dec. 7th.

If you get a chance, please support, patronize, or thank our sponsors!

It’s been called the toughest endurance race in the world ... why would anyone do this, especially when it’s 40 degrees below zero? Set in Northern Minnesota, we meet Leah, a junk food eating scientist, and Bill, an accomplished ultra-marathoner who just can’t seem to finish this incredibly challenging race. They run, bike or ski 135 miles over three days in the solitary woods, sometimes hallucinating and barely stopping to rest or sleep in the snow without getting frostbite or freezing to death. What can we learn from them about life, love and happiness?

The discovery of a massive, hand-made hole on Mount Shasta in 2009 led to a flurry of speculation. What begins as an offbeat true-crime documentary slowly expands into a portrait of a small town’s unusual local mythology before descending into a rabbit hole of bizarre theories and startling revelations.

Siskiyou County-based filmmaker Elijah Sullivan spent over a decade investigating the incident and compiling first-hand accounts. The result combines several stories, including the investigation by local Forest Service employees, the perspectives of local scholars, a conspiracy theorist looking for a lost civilization, and a young man for whom the excavation was a harrowing coming-of-age story.

Hello There

Nestled in historic Scott Valley among the majesty of far Northern California’s Marble Mountains, the Jefferson State FLIXX FEST proudly claims to be the premier film festival of the "mythical" 51st State of Jefferson. Now in its third year, the festival represents a stand for fiercely independent cinema and is committed to showcasing films and screenplays that capture some of the Jefferson State’s iconic values: beauty, landscape, vision and freedom, in whatever storytelling form that takes.
