The extreme cold weather over the past month has really taken a toll on our pantry.
We miscalated our protection and a whole lot of food froze.
An extra heater was added and that solved the heat issue but the pantry is going to have to be completely gone through. There were a lot of frozen canned goods. All of our eggs froze.
We are so disappointed that this has happened and it has definitely hampered our ability to serve our patrons.
Now that the temperature is broken it will be much easier to get down there and get things cleaned up.
The pantry is a great responsibility and we do not take it lightly. We promise to you, the public ,that setbacks like this will be learning experiences. And bear with us while we get the pantry back up to par.

We are staring down some serious cold over this next week.
We pray that there are shelters for all in our community.
If you or your family comes into an emergency situation over this weekend do not hesitate to reach out!

Due to an unplanned delivery at the feed Mill we were forced to start handing out early. If you were waiting till 4:30 you should go ahead and head up now.

Two days! Time moves quickly!
Our annual turkey and ham giveaway is Monday at 4:30 p.m.! Here is what you need to know.
Please pull in on the north side of the feed mill next to the railroad tracks. Drive around the old silo bases to the start of the line at the pantry. We will be handing out turkeys and hams with fixings. And we will also serve our regular function as a food pantry. If you're coming to get turkeys and hams be sure to let us know if you need food for your house also.
We have some great volunteers this year! Thank you to our Etna Township Fire Department, and to Kerrigan Marie Lackey for stepping up! And of course thank you to all of our Friends of Etna Green regulars who are always ready to serve.
We have 25 of each so line up quickly or you may miss out.
We look forward to seeing everyone. Happy Thanksgiving! And God bless Etna Green

Our turkey and ham event scheduled for Monday is at 4:30 p.m. we are having some trouble with switching the time zone on our Facebook account. The ham and turkey giveaway is not at 7:30 p.m.

It's taking a little longer than expected to get the paneling in the pantry .This is very expensive and we are hoping that there's some surplus luan somewhere nearby before spending. It's not been as easy checking on this as you would think. If there's anyone out there who knows where we can get some surplus paneling or Luan for a great value contact us here.

The Etna Community Food Pantry is coming along great! Wiring will be finished by the end of this week and we're hoping to install insulation and paneling this weekend . It won't be long and we'll be open for business! Once again, if you are a family in need contact us on here and we will help you out. Can't wait to see all of your faces again real soon!
