Emmet County 4-Her’s, are you wondering what our new Design It: Dream Room Challenge fair class is all about? Want to learn about home design? If you answered yes, this upcoming workshop is for you!

Who: 4-Her’s
Date: June 24th

This workshop will explore how to design your dream room from wall colors to the flooring! We will have a guest speaker here to talk about the perfect room design! We will also have samples of carpets, curtains, and paint chips that you can use to add to your vision board. We will also look at the fair class rules and prepare for entering your project into the fair!

Bring your vision/poster board if you have one, or let us know and we can provide you with a blank one!

The Future Innovators short term 4-H Club is where YOU get to create, explore, and develop a unique service or product. Step into the world of entrepreneurship and unleash your potential and become a future business leader!

Who: 7th grade and up
When: Two - 3 hour sessions in June (Date & Time TBD based off participant availability)
Where: Emmet County Extension Office
Cost: No Cost To Participate - Registration Required

Topics include: Product/Service Development, Business Plans/Budgets, Business Licensing, Funding/Finding Investors, Production/Manufacturing, Branding/Advertisement, and a booth display at the Emmet County Fair

Ready to explore careers that don't stop when the sun goes down? Join us for 4-H Night Shift: Careers That Don't Sleep - a fun, interactive career exploration night for youth. Walk through hands-on stations and learn from community partners like Estherville Hotel, Iowa Lakes Community College Custodial, Kwik Star, the Police Department, the Hospital/ER Department, Jones Dairy, Rosenboom, and Lisa's Bake Shop. You'll get a behind-the-scenes look at different workplaces, practice resume-building skills, and enjoy snacks and games along the way. Come curious - leave inspired!

Who: All Emmet and Dickinson County 4-Her's in 8th - 12th grade
When: June 4th beginning at 7:00 PM at the Emmet County Extension Office and ending at 5:00 AM at Lisa's Bake Shop
Where: Various locations in Emmet & Dickinson County - we will provide transportation from each location
Cost: $20 per person

(The fees for service will be used to offset direct expense and to support the 4-H Youth Development County Extension Program.)

Join us as we celebrate ISU Extension and Outreach Week! We want to give thanks to our community who supports the ISU Extension and Outreach program! We want to extend an invitation to our community to join us on Thursday, April 9th from 10 AM - 4 PM as we celebrate. We will be giving out popcorn, cotton candy, and dirty sodas. We will have a prize wheel and a chance for you to sign up for some awesome door prizes!

The Big Açaí food truck will be parked in our parking lot from 11:00 AM-1:30 PM. You can order online or at the window!

As you stop by, check out our tables for great resources and local information about what Emmet County Extension and ISU Extension and Outreach have to offer!

Come join us and paint/decorate a wooden door sign that you can hang up and display at your home! There are many designs to choose from. The pieces come blank, which you get to have fun and choose the paint for the designs.
