A quick reminder that Neighborhood Slash Container applications are still open, but only until tomorrow, May 31st. This is a great opportunity not only to clear out small slash, pine cones, and pine needles - it’s also the perfect excuse to get your neighbors together for a community clean‑up. Be sure to submit your request before the deadline!

Also, make sure to mark your calendars for the first of three Community Drop‑Off Days, in partnership with the Estes Land Steward Association’s noxious weeds drop‑off:

đź“… Saturday, July 18th
⏰ 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

It’s a great chance to clear out your HIZ, connect with your neighbors, and help keep our community healthy and resilient.

You can find more information about both events at www.evwatershed.org or scan the code!

Ending the week with a peek into one of nature’s most important ecosystems. This spring at the beaver pond: elk splashing, a great blue heron scoring its lunch, and so much wildlife taking advantage of the habitat beavers create. It’s a perfect reminder of how vital these ponds are - and how many animals depend on them.

The EVWC is teaming up once again with EVFPD, WM, and NW to help keep the Estes Valley more wildfire resilient and our forests healthier.

For the seventh year, we’re providing 30‑yard roll‑off containers for slash, pinecones, and pine needle disposal.

From 2020–2025, this partnership has helped remove over 450,000 lbs of wildfire‑fuel materials across the Estes Valley - and we’re not slowing down.

Round 2 Applications are open now until May 31, 2026.

And don't forget to mark your calendars for our first Community Drop‑off Day on July 18th.
