Suri Network Fiber Committee We are suri alpaca breeders and fans and users of suri alpaca fiber. We are focused on growing awareness and use of suri alpaca fiber.

The Fiber Committee is affiliated with The Suri Network, the national organization for suri alpaca owners and breeders. The goals of the Suri Network Fiber Committee are to:
*Gather Suri Fiber information pertinent to North American suri breeders
*Determine quantity of annual North American Suri fiber production
*Define the scope of the North American Suri fiber industry
*Educate Suri breeders on

suri fiber characteristics and its ultimate useage
*Discover numerous outlets for North American Suri fleece clip
*Develop Suri products
*Pursue buyers for end products developed from Suri fleece
*Pursue manufacturers of Suri end products

The SNPDC was formd in August of 2006 in recognition of the need to develop a market for suri fiber and associated end products. Since that time, the SNPDC has researched a variety of topics to develop a comprehensive business plan to advance the use of domestic suri fiber. The SNPDC sponsors and/or participates in a variety of fiber and textile industry trade events, and plans to increase its outreach and education of industry players, including both processors and consumers.
