Colorado Cherokee Circle

Colorado Cherokee Circle Satellite communities have been organized by the tribe in areas of high Cherokee Nation populations.

Currently there are over 7000 Cherokee Nation citizens in Colorado. The COLORADO CHEROKEE CIRCLE (CoCC) is a community of Cherokees dedicated to Cherokee history, culture, heritage, tradition, and fellowship. We are a non-political, non-profit Native American organization whose members reside outside the historic boundaries of the Cherokee Nation and Bands. We have come together on the basis of ou

r shared history and heritage, and out of an interest in the continuation of and a love for the Cherokee People and Nations.

Looking for a great Native American activity this weekend? Then head to “The Fort” in Morrison for their annual pop-up art show featuring the works of many accomplished Native American Artists. Our own Cherokee Circle member and Cherokee citizen, Gwen Ahlers, will be showcasing some of her original art work. (Also, from personal experience it is just a fun and genuinely immersive adventure focused solely on our rich indigenous communities and cultures in a more laid back and relaxing atmosphere.) It is well worth the effort to attend if you can make it.

We have seen many renditions of our Nation’s seal posted on the internet over the years. Most of them are incorrect. Please note that the ONLY correct seal that should be used is located in the Media Kit posted in the link below. Wado Johnny Jack Kidwell for sharing this information with us.

Our seal is deeply meaningful and should be treated with respect. Sharing our seal for non-commercial purposes is part of sharing our identity and we encourage it. Using the wrong Cherokee Nation seal is avoidable. First, don’t use AI to generate our seal, an act that is an almost guaranteed way to irresponsibly get it wrong. Second, using seals that look legitimate on the internet can sometimes lead to using the wrong seal. Mistakes happen. Candidly, we’ve even made that mistake and I’m sure I have.
