Pretty cool day when the former owner of one of the museum rigs comes to Estes Park for a visit and a ride around town! Thanks to Mike Patt Kachur and his daughter Amanda for visiting today. Mike owned the truck from 1974 to 1990 in Michigan after purchasing the 1937 ex Kansas City Kansas 412 pumper from the Ag Hall of Fame in Bonner Springs, Kansas. Bonner Springs FD acquired the truck from KCK at some point and had it in service until the early 70's. It was one of 4 1937 400 series rigs purchased by KCK, 2 were 1250 GPM centrifugal pumpers and 2 were city service trucks. As far as we know this is the only survivor.
