New volunteer Kay from Santa Fe took some awesome pics of the gang. She mainly works with Finnegan, Astrid, and Pia, but she's also making friends with the others.

Introducing our new line of potholders with artwork by Janette. These are totally unique, and they would make an awesome gift for friends, family or yourself! You can order through our store or buy directly from us at a discounted price if you book a ranch tour or come to volunteer.

Update: Pia's x-rays show minor "ski tipping", which indicates some chronic rotation of the coffin bone, but not of a severe kind. This could be due to her past hoof neglect, which is being corrected with frequent, regular trimming, and not necessarily due to her metabolic condition. Pia still has a potentially long and healthy life ahead of her.

We had a veterinary afternoon with Dr. Beu from Western Trails Veterinary Hospital for Charlie, Pia, and Astrid. Charlie got blood drawn for a blood panel and a check-up, Astrid got her teeth checked, and Pia got blood drawn for a new metabolic panel, got x-rays of her front feet done, and her teeth floated as well. Now we're waiting for results. For Pia and Astrid, this exam is important for their future prospects as adoptable donkeys.

Here's another opportunity to support our work, by contributing to our veterinary expenses. Consider making a gift of $5, $10, or any other amount to help get Pia and Astrid into the right home!
