Jason will perform in Essex over Labor Day weekend Saturday, Sept. 5 immediately following the Extreme Bull Riding, Mutton Busting, and Barrel Racing at the Essex derby Track.
Admission for Mayer is a ticket to the rodeo! Concessions and a beer garden are available. No outside coolers are allowed.
Born and raised in small town Nebraska, Jason Mayer was born to be a musician and songwriter! He started writing songs and performing for family and friends at a very young age, and his obsession for music has never stopped! He has been performing live for over 15 years, and tours extensively across the country with his band. He mixes country, rock, and roots music with a unique voice and style to make his sound unmistakable!
Mayer has twice been nominated for Outstanding Country Artist of the Year by the Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards! He was also selected in 2023 as one of 15 finalists for the prestigious Wild West Songwriters Festival in Deadwood, South Dakota.
He has shared the stage with many national artists, including Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, Ella Langley, Uncle Kracker, Carly Pearce, Craig Morgan, Rodney Atkins, Easton Corbin, Eli Young Band, Maddie & Tay, Jarrod Niemann, Thompson Square, Morgan Evans, Drake White, Matt Stell, Jimmie Allen, David Allen Coe, Aaron Watson, Kolby Cooper, Reckless Kelly, Cody Canada, Jason Boland, Read Southall Band, Josh Ward, and many more!
Mayer has released 4 original albums with various bands over his career and has written 28 different songs that have received radio airplay. His solo debut “Old Man” which was penned as a tribute to his late father, was released in the summer of 2021. He has since followed that up with 7 additional single releases over the past 3 years, and has over 500k streams across all platforms on his music thus far! His most recent single “Back to Nebraska” was released in August of 2025 and has already garnered rave reviews and consistent radio airplay. More music is in the works, and can expected to be released later in 2026!
Mayer is currently on a nation-wide tour in support of his new releases! Over the past 3 years, Mayer and his band have played nearly 400 shows, covering 23 different states and 97 different cities! Highlights include; the MGM Grand, Resorts World, and the T Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Losers, Whiskey Row, Category 10, Whiskey Bent, Tin Roof, and the Dawghouse in Nashville. Million Dollar Cowboy Bar in Jackson WY, Grizzly Rose in Denver, Co, and several stops across the country on the Tin Roof circuit! Live shows are high energy, sing-along, dancing fun!
