The property will serve as the facility anchor for the Yolo Food Hub Network. The building will provide storage space and other needed support infrastructure and will support regional farms and ranches to diversify their market opportunities across the region. The goal of the facility is to eventually provide distribution, storage, processing, and packing services. The Yolo Food Hub Network’s facility in Esparto will also increase consumer and buyer access to healthy and diverse local foods, improve farmer and market sales, and strengthen relationships between farmers, institutions, and local communities.

Attendees of the celebration will include Yolo Food Hub Network partners, community leaders, elected officials, and other collaborators who are passionate about local food systems. Come learn more about the Yolo Food Hub Network and celebrate with us Friday, October 21st from 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM at 17720 Oakdale Ranch Road Esparto, CA 95627. The event will be co-sponsored by Slow Food Yolo, which will provide local food for attendees. Registration is required for planning purposes.

Yolo Food Hub is a new facility that will aggregate, process, store, and distribute farm produce grown in Yolo County and surrounding areas on behalf of farmers in the area.

Join New Season in congratulating Arriel Adler as a New Season honoree on National Philanthropy Day. At the start of the pandemic, Arriel realized that so many in northwestern Yolo County needed food access and food assistance. She used her former marketing and non-profit experience in fundraising to begin a weekly farmer’s market and to organize a chicken dinner food giveaway twice a year. Arriel has served so many and brought the community together at a very difficult time. She has done amazing fundraising for New Season and all she has touched in the Capay Valley have significantly benefited from her efforts. She is a gem.

Help support New Season when you contribute to the 2020 Big Day of Giving on Thursday May 7, 2020. As a nonprofit, New Season aims to revitalize the downtown areas of the small towns in rural northwestern Yolo County. We purchase properties, rehabilitate them, and find new commercial tenants with businesses that will add to the local economy and create new jobs for community residents. In service of this mission we also undertake projects that beautify these areas and provide other services that augment new economic development.
Please visit https://www.bigdayofgiving.org/newseasoncdc and contribute any amount to help New Season create new opportunities in rural Yolo County.
