So far this March Mesa to Mesa has completed a bathroom shower remodel, as well as an installation of approximately 60 feet of new heater ducting in an Española home. This will make the cold weather days and nights much more comfortable for those living here. Thank you to all who donate in order to make this possible! This February we partnered with New Mexico Ramp Project to build 3 additional ramps within our Northern New Mexico communities; Mendenales, Chimayo, and Ohkay Owingeh. Thank you to all who donated their time, money and care into these projects! And an additional thank you to the homeowner in Mendenales who provided us a delicious meal.

WELCOME JON BULTHUIS!
The Board of Directors of Mesa to Mesa has announced that Jon Bulthuis was hired as its new Executive Director to lead the organization. Bulthuis began working in this role Dec. 9. “Jon has the experience and skills to step into the role of Executive Director and hit the ground running in working to achieve the mission of Mesa to Mesa in the coming months and years,” Board Chair Wes Horpedahl said.
Bulthuis has had a long career of public service, working with the City of Santa Fe as Transportation Department Director for 23 years, and most recently, with Los Alamos County as Deputy Public Works Director for seven years before his retirement in 2022.
“I have enjoyed my time in retirement thus far, but am grateful for the opportunity to return to the workforce and be part of this wonderful organization,” Bulthuis said. “I look forward to developing relationships with the clients we serve as well as the donor base and Board of Directors. The need for small home improvements throughout the Española Valley, Los Alamos County, and Northern Santa Fe County is great and I am looking forward to bringing such repairs to homeowners with limited incomes so they can continue to live safely in their own homes.”

This new appointment follows the retirement of Inez Leibman who served in the role of Executive Director for the past eight years.
