Española Healing Foods Oasis

Española Healing Foods Oasis Rainwater harvesting restoration garden, rooted in Tewa agro-ecology & Indigenous sustainable design.

The Healing Foods Oasis project is an edible, medicinal, garden utilizing traditional dry-land farming techniques and Indigenous Sustainable Design (permaculture). This fruit tree and perennial garden is accessible to the local community to enjoy and interact with our plant relations. It provides seasonal food, seeds, herbs, meandering pathways, beauty, shade and is solving erosion problems on th

e hillside, while harvesting precious rainwater. There is also the Healing Foods Seed Library housed next door at the Española Public Library, with seeds available for the community. This project is a partnership between Tewa Women United and the City of Española. Community Collaborators:

Please join us for the opening of the Seed Library on our TWU campus!

A seed library is a community-based collection where community members can “borrow” seeds to plant, grow, and then save seed from the harvest to return to the library, encouraging biodiversity and food security.

🌻 PAA is proud to announce the 10th Annual Healing Circle! - “Art as creative expression, art as community!” 🌻

This year we want to celebrate BIG so we are moving this year’s event to📍Tiguex Park! We hope you join us on Saturday April 25, 2026 with the Healing Circle starting at 1pm!

Reaching this milestone is bittersweet to commemorate, which has prompted reflection on past gatherings we have hosted. While PAA has been the core of organizing this event, the support of our community partners and relatives has brought each Healing Circle to life year after year. We extend our sincere gratitude to all who have attended and supported us over the years.

⚡️Throughout the years, themes have varied, but each Healing Circle has remained centered around community care, healing, and holistic wellness. Each year is unique and special in its own way, with various workshops and activities including nutritional education, land and body mapping workshops, seed ball stations, yoga, acudetox, community murals, art stations, chair massages, and our community feed.

⚡️This year, we are bringing some of our community partners back to uplift their work while cultivating community creative expression that offers grounding through various mediums of art. This will be offered through stations where community members can engage with organizations to learn more about their work and resources while participating in a creative art station.

💫 Save the date for this FREE intergenerational community event, hope to see you there!
