“Barn rats”! We love them, and they love the horses.

As blogger and high-school teacher Sarah Susa helped longtime “barn rats” put together their one-page resumes (“Times New Roman, 12-point font documents—plugging in skills and experiences using only the most active of verbs”), she realized just how much they had learned and grown through their years at Black Dog Stables.

Her latest blog is a heartfelt tribute to the generations of kids who grow up at the barn.

Apparently We have a guardian angel. Well 2 really. David Weiss who got our pump primed and working so again we can offer toilet facilities. And an anonymous angel. When I went into the neglected viewing area (neglected because it has been too cold to ride and so many snow and cold related chores) it was spectacularly clean. Who did that? We are so appreciative and we would like to thank this absolutely appreciated person. Please stand up and identify yourself.
