Escondido Rotary After 5 is proud to be one of the founding sponsors of the Orange Glen High School 1904 Cadets firefighting program. Watching their skills today showed how much our students can do when we get them beyond a normal classroom setting..

“We are not just teaching EMS and firefighting skills. We are preparing kids for their lives.”

What a meaningful and festive Escondido Rotary After 5 meeting this week! 🎄✨

We were proud to award three new Paul Harris Fellows, celebrating their outstanding commitment to Service Above Self. To top it off, we wrapped up the evening with a joyful gift-wrapping party for the presents we purchased for nine local families we adopted this Christmas.

It was an inspiring night filled with generosity, fellowship, and holiday spirit—proof of the impact we can make when we come together. Thank you to everyone who helped make this season brighter for our community!

🌿 Escondido Rotary After 5 Proudly Supports the OG Conservation Crew 🌿

Escondido Rotary After 5 is excited to partner with the Orange Glen High School Conservation Crew (OGCC)—a growing youth development program giving local students hands-on experience in wildland management, conservation, park building, and habitat restoration.

The OGCC brings together 35–50 hardworking Orange Glen students and gives them the chance to build real skills while improving San Diego County’s natural spaces. Students are currently helping restore Bear Valley County Park, Wilderness Gardens Preserve, and several other parklands.

Our club’s Rotarians work side-by-side with students, mentoring them in positive work habits, teamwork, leadership, and career readiness. Along the way, students gain valuable exposure to outdoor careers and develop confidence through meaningful service.

Our club also helps provide opportunities for students to explore the outdoors through activities like kayaking, surfing, fishing, and even snow sports—experiences many have never had access to before.

Thanks to the success of the program, Rotary has already been asked to expand the OGCC model to two additional high schools and one middle school. With community support, we can continue opening doors for more youth across Escondido.

💙🌲 Together, we’re shaping future leaders—and restoring the environment at the same time.

End Polio Fundraiser on Tuesday. Hope we see you there!

Hello everyone. Thanks to Ryan and Christine, we have a great opportunity for a Rotary Fellowship event coming up to support World Polio Day. Jose at Cocina Del Charro has agreed to have Rotarians from all of the Escondido clubs and their spouses or guests be invited to come to the restaurant for a Fellowship Happy Hour on Tuesday October 21, 5-7pm. There will be appetizers and a no host bar. The cost will be $25 per person at the door, which will be donated to Polio Plus. You need to rsvp in advance to [email protected] so that we can get a head count. I have attached the flyer here for your further information. So come out and socialize with other Rotarians from Escondido and help us support World Polio Day!!
