🌿 Escondido Rotary After 5 Proudly Supports the OG Conservation Crew 🌿
Escondido Rotary After 5 is excited to partner with the Orange Glen High School Conservation Crew (OGCC)—a growing youth development program giving local students hands-on experience in wildland management, conservation, park building, and habitat restoration.
The OGCC brings together 35–50 hardworking Orange Glen students and gives them the chance to build real skills while improving San Diego County’s natural spaces. Students are currently helping restore Bear Valley County Park, Wilderness Gardens Preserve, and several other parklands.
Our club’s Rotarians work side-by-side with students, mentoring them in positive work habits, teamwork, leadership, and career readiness. Along the way, students gain valuable exposure to outdoor careers and develop confidence through meaningful service.
Our club also helps provide opportunities for students to explore the outdoors through activities like kayaking, surfing, fishing, and even snow sports—experiences many have never had access to before.
Thanks to the success of the program, Rotary has already been asked to expand the OGCC model to two additional high schools and one middle school. With community support, we can continue opening doors for more youth across Escondido.
💙🌲 Together, we’re shaping future leaders—and restoring the environment at the same time.
