Route 78 Rotary Club

Route 78 Rotary Club Route 78 Rotary is North County's newest chartered Rotary Club serving the 78 corridor. We are chartered under Rotary International.

We provide services and support for our community and local nonprofits. Many of our members are bilingual Greetings from the Route 78 Rotary Club of North County
Escondido! We are a regional club and our members are from across North County. The Route 78 Rotary Club was chartered in March of 2013. We
are part of Rotary International, a service club association
that includes about 34,000 Rotary

clubs, with 1.2 million members in over 200 countries around the world. Our club has a deep commitment to education and "exists to
promote goodwill, respect and better friendships through service and support to the diverse communities of North County" (Mission Statement). Besides education, our club community service focuses on youth development and meeting medical needs. Just a few of the projects we are involved with:
- School Supplies Program
- Thousand Smiles Foundation in Ensenada
- Shelter Box Program—disaster relief
—The North County Food Bank

Our signature fundraising event, The Mariachi Festival, takes place every Spring at the CA Center for the Arts in Escondido. This event celebrates
and showcases traditional Hispanic music and dance in a family
environment. Fundraising proceeds benefit education & health programs for children & youth in North County

Above all, the fellowship aspect of our club is what makes it special. We meet two times at Cocina del Charro San Marcos. We welcome visiting Rotarians and guests to join us for breakfast. We are looking for other leaders and "civic-minded" individuals in San Diego. Our members are 50/50 men/women. If you are motivated to serve our community, we'd like you to join us. Life is a journey… and sometimes the road ahead isn’t always clear. There are detours, potholes, unexpected adventures and the occasional flat tyre. But every now and then, you discover something that changes the direction of your life forever.

For me, Rotary has been one of those journeys.

It started with a simple meeting and grew into friendships across the world, opportunities I never imagined, moments of purpose, laughter, heartbreak, leadership, growth and memories that will stay with me forever.

Rotary might take you across the globe, or just across the road to help someone who needs it most. It might challenge you, inspire you, frustrate you occasionally (because we are human after all 😂) but it will absolutely change you.

The beautiful thing is, no two Rotary journeys look the same.

So the question is...
