Helen Knoll Foundation

Helen Knoll Foundation Our mission: stop breast cancer before it starts. We focus on prevention for young women. The HKF advocates for true Prevention.

Women under 40 are consistently told that self exam is their only option until they are old enough for the Mammogram. (Helen Knoll had breast cancer twice before 40!) Self exam is NOT the only choice. Over 90% of breast cancer occurrence is due to life-style choices and behaviors that we can control.
1) low carb/sugar healthy diet
2) Vitamin D3 level at optimal 40-60 ng/ml serum level can lower oc

currence by 77%
3) Avoid Progestin birth control and use hormone-free options

Women with adequate vitamin D levels at diagnosis show better breast cancer survival outcomes, according to recent research.

This underscores the importance of maintaining sufficient vitamin D — through sunlight exposure, nutrition, and personalized supplementation.
Regular testing helps ensure your levels are within the optimal range for overall health and resilience.

Breast Cancer Prevention Month! 🌸
Did you know that breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide—and that less than 10% of cases are caused by family history? That means most cases are preventable.

At The Helen Knoll Foundation, we go beyond awareness. Our mission is to educate, empower, and protect young women by reducing the risks before cancer starts. Through early education, healthy lifestyle choices, and access to age-appropriate screenings, we’re helping women take charge of their breast health—because prevention is protection. 💕

This October, let’s do more than wear pink—let’s take action for prevention. 💪✨

Welcome to our podcast, Join the Conversation with Summer Keith. This month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and we are talking with the Helen Knoll Foundation about Breast Cancer prevention.

Every October, pink ribbons bloom across storefronts, social media feeds, and sports jerseys. But Breast Cancer Awareness Month is more than a color—it’s a movement rooted in hope, resilience, and the urgent need for action.

Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women in the U.S. during their lifetime. It doesn’t discriminate by age, background, or lifestyle. Yet early detection remains one of our most powerful tools. Regular mammograms, self-exams, and knowing your family history can save lives.

This month, we honor survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and support the fighters still in the ring. But awareness alone isn’t enough. Let’s turn compassion into impact:
Schedule your screening or encourage a loved one to do so.Support organizations funding research and patient care.Share stories that educate and empower.

Behind every pink ribbon is a person—a mother, sister, friend, neighbor—whose life may depend on what we do today. Let October be the month we don’t just wear pink, but live it.
