This is a Veteran named Champ. We would take him out of Memory Care and into the community to help him with mental stimulation. Charm and Champ are the perfect example of the human-horse bond.

This is my favorite photo from our event at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club's Family Fun Day on Sunday, July 26, 2026. This little boy was just mesmerized by Sweetie. His eyes reflected so much awe and inner love. We will be there again on September 6. I hope he comes back to visit Sweetie again.

If anyone knows this little boy, please ask them to contact us for a very special visit with Sweetie.

We visited Champ often in memory care. He was a Veteran who graduated from Annapolis. He was a Commander of 14 minesweepers in Viet Nam. He was a very kind man. We always took him outside for fresh air, either pushing him in his wheelchair while our mini horses walked next to him, or we took him out into the community for mental stimulation. Sweetie and Charm were always at his side. This video is the Ride and Stride event at Walnut Grove Park in San Marcos. When they played the National Anthem, Champ saluted with pride. He was a wonderful man.
