💙 Celebrating another year of service! 💙

On Monday night, the Escanaba Kiwanis Club gathered for our annual dinner; a night to share a meal, reminisce about the year behind us, and celebrate the people who make this club what it is.

We were proud to welcome new members Cory Gray and Martanna Schroeder to the Kiwanis family, and we took a moment to recognize two members whose dedication speaks for itself:

👏🏻 Warren Isaacson — 50 years of service
👏🏻 Dennis Pearson — 45 years of service

That kind of commitment is pretty special. And honestly, we're not sure there's enough cake to celebrate 95 combined years of Kiwanis service. 😉

Looking back, the numbers from this past year tell a pretty great story, too:

⏰ 492 service hours across 20 activities
🙋 19 Kiwanis members serving alongside 59 guest volunteers
💰 $22,936.09 donated to 32 causes

Those numbers represent filling Christmas baskets with St. Vincent de Paul, feeding the athletes and spectators at the Special Olympics basketball game, cleaning up along M-35, running the Spring Expo, and finding all kinds of ways to serve the children and families in our community.

To every Kiwanian who gave an hour, organized an event, showed up early, stayed late, or simply asked, “how can I help?” — and to the 59 friends and community members who volunteered with us this year — thank you for jumping in and being part of the work.

Here's to another year of serving, laughing, eating, occasionally getting a little messy, and making a difference together. 🎉

On this final day of the 2025-2026 Kiwanis year, let’s take a moment and celebrate all that we have accomplished and the impact our clubs have made.

Congrats to all officers and leadership on a great year and cheers to being retired officially at midnight tonight!

Special thanks to Governor Paul Shrode on an excellent year of service leading the Wisconsin Upper Michigan District!

🍁 Leaf-ing it better than we found it 🍁

Over the weekend, our Kiwanians geared up with safety vests and trash pickers and headed back out to our stretch of M-35 in Ford River for our fall highway cleanup.

There’s something pretty special about having people who are willing to give their time to take care of the place we call home. And we’re especially grateful for Dennis Pearson, whose passion for this project and willingness to organize it keeps this tradition going. 💙

To Dennis and all of our cleanup crew: thank you for showing up, pitching in, and leaf-ing our corner of the U.P. a little better than you found it. That’s what service is all about.

🍂 We’ll see you out there again in the spring!

Yesterday, Kiwanians showed up with pride to present a $500 donation to the Northern Lights YMCA - Delta Center Capital Campaign, and left feeling more inspired than ever about what's coming for our community.

We were honored to be welcomed by Associate Executive Director Caron Salo, who gave us an inside look at the progress on the new Aquatics Center, a tour of the Delta Center, and some wonderful history about this incredible facility. It is clear that this project is something truly special for Escanaba and the surrounding area.

The Northern Lights YMCA is currently in the final stretch of their campaign, and right now, every dollar is being DOUBLED thanks to the Daniel J. Kobasic Foundation Matching Challenge. They have met over 90% of their goal, and your gift today has twice the impact. 💪

We are so proud to be a small part of something this big. This is exactly the kind of investment that makes our community a place worth showing up for.

Escanaba Kiwanians Dennis, Gina and Julie represented our club this weekend in Brookfield, WI for the annual Wisconsin-Upper Michigan District Convention (DCON). We packed a lot into three days! A day at the Milwaukee Zoo, where we picnicked with fellow Kiwanians. Energetic speakers and thought-provoking sessions. Meetings with district leadership. Electing our next district governor. Learning from each other, gathering ideas and making connections to better serve our communities. And, as always, having a ton of fun together!

Kiwanis is all about kids, and donating to the children’s museum is a no-brainer! Please join us in supporting this extremely worthwhile endeavor.

A big thank you to the Kiwanis Club for their generous donation to the Dream Maker Children’s Museum! Support from organizations like the Kiwanis Club helps us continue preserving history and creating a space that is safe and accessible for all. We truly appreciate their generosity and continued support!

Thanks again to the Kiwanis Club and to Mancave Dave for hosting us during business after hours in downtown Gladstone!

🌿 Keeping our corner beautiful 🌿

Last week, Kiwanians geared up with safety vests and trash pickers and hit our stretch of M-35 in Ford River. A beautiful community doesn't happen by accident - it happens because people care.

Every bag of litter picked up is one step toward making our community a place we're proud to call home. It's a simple act of service, but one that makes a visible difference.

A huge shoutout to our volunteers who keep coming back for this one. Rain or shine, you continue to show up simply because that's who you are, and we appreciate you.

🥞 LogJam Recap 🥞

Kiwanians teamed up with our friends at the Swedish Pantry to host the 2026 flapjack eating contest at the Escanaba LogJam Music Festival

Congratulations to our winners:
🏆 Men's Division: Jeff Noggle - 1 minute, 2 seconds
🏆 Women's Division: Amy Blahnik - 3 minutes, 10 seconds

We also ran a 50/50 raffle, and one very lucky winner walked away with $455! 🎉

Between the live music, food trucks, vendors, log events, and absolutely gorgeous weather, LogJam delivered everything we love about this community, and then some.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, competed, cheered, and celebrated with us. This is what summer in Escanaba is all about. 💛
