Escanaba Kiwanians Dennis, Gina and Julie represented our club this weekend in Brookfield, WI for the annual Wisconsin-Upper Michigan District Convention (DCON). We packed a lot into three days! A day at the Milwaukee Zoo, where we picnicked with fellow Kiwanians. Energetic speakers and thought-provoking sessions. Meetings with district leadership. Electing our next district governor. Learning from each other, gathering ideas and making connections to better serve our communities. And, as always, having a ton of fun together!

Kiwanis is all about kids, and donating to the children’s museum is a no-brainer! Please join us in supporting this extremely worthwhile endeavor.

A big thank you to the Kiwanis Club for their generous donation to the Dream Maker Children’s Museum! Support from organizations like the Kiwanis Club helps us continue preserving history and creating a space that is safe and accessible for all. We truly appreciate their generosity and continued support!

🌿 Keeping our corner beautiful 🌿

Last week, Kiwanians geared up with safety vests and trash pickers and hit our stretch of M-35 in Ford River. A beautiful community doesn't happen by accident - it happens because people care.

Every bag of litter picked up is one step toward making our community a place we're proud to call home. It's a simple act of service, but one that makes a visible difference.

A huge shoutout to our volunteers who keep coming back for this one. Rain or shine, you continue to show up simply because that's who you are, and we appreciate you.

🥞 LogJam Recap 🥞

Kiwanians teamed up with our friends at the Swedish Pantry to host the 2026 flapjack eating contest at the Escanaba LogJam Music Festival

Congratulations to our winners:
🏆 Men's Division: Jeff Noggle - 1 minute, 2 seconds
🏆 Women's Division: Amy Blahnik - 3 minutes, 10 seconds

We also ran a 50/50 raffle, and one very lucky winner walked away with $455! 🎉

Between the live music, food trucks, vendors, log events, and absolutely gorgeous weather, LogJam delivered everything we love about this community, and then some.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, competed, cheered, and celebrated with us. This is what summer in Escanaba is all about. 💛

It was so good to see longtime Kiwanian Sherri Goss Ide today as we celebrated the life of her husband of 60 years, Dewayne. Dewayne passed away on February 1 in Grand Rapids, where they moved a couple years ago to be near their daughter and son-in-law, Kym and Eric. Today the family returned to Gladstone, where they had lived for more than 40 years, to celebrate and honor Dewayne with loved ones here. Escanaba Kiwanians Racheal Paslawski, Julie Stockton Mallard and Warren Isaacson attended the service and got to visit with Sherri (who is still a Kiwanian, now in a Golden K club in Grand Rapids). Much love to Sherri and her family. ❤️

🌼 Spring Cleaning: Kiwanis Style! 🌼

While spring was busy blooming, we were busy cleaning up - because a beautiful community doesn't happen by accident! Earlier this month, volunteers hit our stretch of M35 in Ford River and cleared the way for warmer days. This small act is rooted in something big: the belief that our community is worth showing up for. Every single time.
