Escalante Canyons Marathon The Escalante Canyons Marathon is 26 miles along the All-American Scenic Byway 12 in Southern Utah. It'll take your breath away.

Join us for the Escalante Canyons Marathon, Half Marathon and 5k annually on the 2nd Saturday of October. This is an extraordinary course connecting the rustic communities of Boulder and Escalante on Utah’s Scenic Byway 12. Run through the slickrock country of Southern Utah with its unparalleled vistas and exhilarating hills. The course is tough, so come prepared! There are $1200 in marathon cash prizes! The Marathon begins in Boulder, the Half Marathon starts at the head of the rocks and ends in Escalante. The 5k fun run begins near the red rocks. The marathon and half marathon includes high scenic outlook on Byway 12 overlooking a vast expanse of rock outcrops and canyons. The races are tough, but the last 10 miles is mostly downhill to the Escalante finish line.Prepare for a tough course with some big climbs. This is at Boynton lookout this morning. It’s about half way for the marathon runners and near the half starting line. We are less than a month away from race day!!! We are excited to host all of our runners and all those attending this year.

The countdown is on... exactly 6 months to go until the 2023 Annular Solar Eclipse makes its way across the Western US on October 14, 2023!
