A New Beginning for a deserving Family đź’—

Through the generosity of donors, and a community that continues to trust us to serve our neighbors, we were able to present the Daniel family with a “new-to-them” truck.

Like so many families impacted by Hurricane Helene, the Daniels lost more than just possessions—they lost important tools that helped provide for their family. Losing their vehicle created challenges that have affected daily life, and their ability to earn income.

This truck represents so much more than transportation. It represents opportunity, hope, and a fresh start.

With this truck, Tom will be able to begin rebuilding his landscaping business, allowing additional income into his home as they continue their recovery journey.

Moments like this are only possible because of people who choose to give, pray, and support our mission. Every donation tells a family, “You are not forgotten.”

Thank you to everyone who has stood alongside us as we continue helping our neighbors rebuild their lives.

Together, we are restoring more than homes—we are restoring hope.

One truck. One family. One more reminder that when a community comes together, lives can be changed. ❤️ ❤️

🏡❤️ WELCOME HOME, GEORGE & TRACY COUCH ❤️🏡

Today was a day we will never forget.

After the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene, George and Tracy’s journey has been filled with challenges, uncertainty, and perseverance. Today, surrounded by friends, volunteers, and community partners, we had the incredible honor of dedicating and blessing their new home and placing the keys in their hands.

Moments like these remind us that recovery is not just about rebuilding structures—it’s about restoring hope, dignity, stability, and the feeling of being home again.

This project would not have been possible without the countless individuals, organizations, donors, churches, and volunteers who stepped forward to serve. We are deeply grateful for our partnership with Samaritan’s Purse, HNDS & FT, 72 The Mission, Helene Rising, Briscall Electric, and the many volunteers who generously gave their time, talents, resources, and hearts to make this day possible.

To every person who donated, prayed, volunteered, shared resources, or encouraged this family along the way—you are part of this story.

At Appalachian United Initiative, we are humbled to walk alongside families as they rebuild after disaster, and we are continually reminded that when a community comes together, incredible things happen.

Today we celebrate more than a house.

We celebrate resilience.

We celebrate partnership.

We celebrate God’s provision.

And most importantly…

We celebrate George and Tracy being HOME. ❤️

Please join us in congratulating the Couch family and thanking all those who helped make this blessing possible.

Help Moving Mountains Rebuild a Safe Deck for Mr. Johnson

Here’s the link to make things easier if anyone wants to donate!

https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/donate-to-help-rebuild-a-safe-deck-for-mr-johnson

At Moving Mountains, our mission is to step in when individuals in our community are facing urgent needs that impact their safety and well-being. Today, we are asking for your support for Mr. Johnson, a 79-year-old man whose home has become increasingly dangerous due to a failing deck.

Mr. Johnson is living with early-stage dementia and has difficulty with balance and mobility. The condition of his back deck poses a serious safety risk. It is uneven, unstable, and does not have stairs. Because of these hazardous conditions, he has already experienced two falls.

For someone his age and health condition, another fall could result in severe injury. Having a safe and stable way to enter and exit his home is not just a convenience, it is a necessity.
Moving Mountains is working along side of Zach Norton with Backyard Fanatics Fence and Deck Company to rebuild Mr. Johnson’s deck so it is secure, level, and equipped with proper stairs. This project will significantly reduce his risk of injury and help restore a sense of safety in his daily life.

We are incredibly grateful that Zach Norton with Backyard Fanatics Fence & Deck Company has graciously donated most of the time and labor required to complete this rebuild the right way. His generosity allows us to focus donations directly toward materials and essential costs needed to make this project possible.

We cannot do this without your help.

Your donation will go directly toward the materials and remaining expenses needed to complete this critical repair. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference. All donations made through this campaign are tax deductible as allowed by law.

If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page is another powerful way to support this effort.

Together, we can help provide a safer home for Mr. Johnson.

Thank you for your generosity and support.
