Community Members Invited to Help Re‑Energize the Bristol TN/VA Kiwanis Club
Bristol, TN/VA — Citizens who care about strengthening their community and supporting local children are invited to take part in the re‑organization of the Bristol TN/VA Kiwanis Club, a long‑standing service organization ready to begin a new chapter.
A community re‑organization meeting will be held on April 16 beginning at 5:30 PM at the Bristol Public Library in the Frances E. Kegley Conference Room. The library is located at 701 Goode Street, Bristol, VA 24201. Community members with questions may contact Bill Gaines, Div. 7 Lt. Gov of the KY/TN District of Kiwanis International at 423-341-3022 or [email protected]
The Bristol Kiwanis Club, formed prior to 1921 was one of the earliest Kiwanis Clubs in the state. It served the Twin City for generations. Like many civic groups, it faced challenges as members aged, and it faded out of existence around 2018. Now, local residents and Kiwanis leaders are working together to rebuild the club’s presence and renew its mission of helping children thrive.
“Bristol has always been a place where neighbors step up for one another,” organizers said. “This meeting is an opportunity for anyone who wants to make a difference — whether you’ve been involved before or are brand‑new to service — to help shape the future of Kiwanis in our community.”
