Happy Memorial Day! Here are some ways we can spend the day honoring those who fought for us 🇺🇸

Today, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our beautiful country. 🇺🇸

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, let’s also take time to care for the communities and public spaces they helped protect. 💚

Whether it’s cleaning up a local park, planting flowers in someone’s honor, or choosing more sustainable ways to celebrate, every action makes a difference. https://bit.ly/4bNVRY9

How does Keeping The Valley Beautiful celebrate Earth Day? By picking up litter on our designated adopt-a-highway in Unicoi County.

It's most discouraging to pick up almost a hundred cigarette butts on a 2 mile stretch of road. Why do people think our beautiful earth is their own personal ashtray?? PLEASE let's all care a little more about what we toss out of vehicles. Keep America Beautiful!! Keep Unicoi County Beautiful!

Thanks to Loren Thomas, County Commissioner for representing all three governments (Unicoi County, Town of Unicoi and Town of Erwin) and helping again this year for a successful tire recycling event! It's great to have a Commissioner who actively cares for the environment!

It was a steady turnout all day, we collected an estimated 1,450 tires that are no longer littering our county! Patriot Recycling now has lots of material to work with recycling these into useful products. Thanks to all volunteers and to community members who brought tires!!

Our group of volunteers are waiting to take your tires! Make sure to go out and see them before 4:00!
