If you have been receiving outdated blog posts via email, please visit the website and unsubscribe from the blog. We have been attempting to identify the reason for these emails, but let’s just say its Technology – 1, Project team – 0 at the moment!

If you have WordPress, technology implementation or user acceptance testing experience, the project team would love to have you join our team. The 2026 International Convention in Norfolk, VA 06/07-08/2026 will be our 85th Annual International Convention. We want you to be part of that historical event not only by attending but by applying for an opportunity to take home an award acknowledging your contributions to IAIP and the insurance industry. The deadline has been extended to 01/15/2026 to get your application to your RVP. While we continue building our new website you can get the application for the awards from your RVP. We have SEVEN Regions, so we want SEVEN Applicants for EACH of the following awards:

International Insurance Professional of the Year: Awarded in recognition of contributions to the insurance industry through education, creation of industry alliances and/or legislative activities, involvement in IAIP and community support.

International Claims Professional of the Year: Awarded for superior knowledge and leadership in the claims field, professional advancement through education, and active participation in IAIP.

International Client Service Professional of the Year: Awarded in recognition of superior service to internal and /or external customers in the insurance and all supporting industries.

International Underwriting Professional of the Year: Awarded for superior knowledge and leadership in the underwriting field, professional advancement through education, and active participation in IAIP.

International Risk Management Professional of the Year: Awarded for superior knowledge and leadership in risk management, professional advancement through education and active participation in IAIP.

International Rookie of the Year: Awarded in recognition of significant involvement and contributions to IAIP and the insurance industry within the first 24 months of membership.

International Young New Professional of the Year: Awarded to recognize an insurance professional under 40 or with less than 5 years’ experience in the insurance industry for significant involvement and contributions to IAIP and the insurance industry.

International Distinguished Professional of the Year: Awarded in recognition of superior mentoring and leadership in the promotion of IAIP involvement to new and younger members.

I hope to see our local members applying for these awards!!

It's November 1st and usually this time of year we're promoting applications for the International Association of Insurance Professionals "....Of the Year" awards. Unfortunately, the links to the applications are part of the website that your leadership and volunteers are working tirelessly to restore.

So, keeping that in mind, as you should have seen in the EC message in your regional newsletter, the deadline to get your application to your RVP has been moved to January 15, 2026. But that doesn't mean you can't consider whether or not you are eligible or to start gathering your involvement in the insurance industry and this organization on a local, council, regional and international level now. Or start thinking about your essay... have you seen the essay tips Region VII has been sharing on their page? I invite you to check those out.

A Message from the President

During my installation I introduced our new tagline - Building. Futures. Together. Recently I outlined Four Building Blocks – Education - Communication – Engagement – Leadership. But before you start building you need to ensure you have a solid foundation. I know the foundation of Insurance Professionals is strong because it was built by you – our members. Your dedication, expertise and support are what will allow us to move forward with confidence.

The loss of our management company was unexpected and has presented many challenges – including temporary disruptions to our website and member services. While difficult, this situation has not shaken our core. We remain grounded in the values that built this association: leadership, professionalism and collaboration.
Your Board of Directors and Executive Committee are working hard to restore full functionality and finding a new management company that suits our needs now and into the future. Moments like this test the strength of any organization, and I am proud to say that our foundation remains solid.

Your patience and support during this time are deeply appreciated. We are committed to transparency and will continue to provide updates as we move forward. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your Regional Vice President for any urgent needs.

Together, we will emerge stronger, more agile, and more connected than ever.

Have you ever played the whisper game, where one person whispers a story to the next and it's passed along the line? By the time it reaches the last person, the story often changes. We want to make sure you always receive a consistent and accurate message.

The EC and the board are working hard to fix our new website and find a new management company to keep our members informed and engaged. While we resolve these issues, please follow the International Association of Insurance Professionals on Facebook or LinkedIn for updates about upcoming classes, meetings and events. If you have questions, reach out to your RVP or to Terri Brennan or Diane Martell to ensure you get the correct information.
