Lake Erie Youth ROAD Crew

Lake Erie Youth ROAD Crew Lake Erie ROAD Crew are 7-12th graders "Reaching Out Against Destruction" - of self and others. Lake Erie PRIDE was established in the spring of 2003.

Based on the principals of PRIDE Youth Programs (1977-2014) ROAD Crew members commit to living safe and drug-free during their high school years. Growing from a small group of students, the team varies in size each year and has been represented by almost all public and private high schools in the county. Our structure is still based upon PRIDE Youth Programs' four pillars:

Community Outreach: Mem

bers of ROAD Crew talk to and present to schools with their peer to peer message of healthy lifestyles. Our group has reached over 30,00 youth in our area. Community Service: Lake Erie ROAD Crew volunteers at various events around the Erie community. Drug-free activities: Lake Erie ROAD Crew members enjoy kicking back and having fun together as well when they are not performing, meeting, or volunteering! Drug Education: Lake Erie ROAD Crew invites guests speakers from around the community to discuss drug and alcohol issues they feel need to be understood in promoting a healthy-lifestyle. In 2013 the name was changed to Lake Erie Youth ROAD Crew to better represent our mission. ROAD stands for Reaching Out Against Destruction. Destruction of all kinds....destruction of ourselves with drugs, underage drinking and self-harm; destruction of others with violence, bullying, and putting people down; and destruction of our community with vandalism and disrespect. We welcome 7-12th grade students from ANY school in the Erie area to join us on our mission.

Today is National Fentanyl Awareness Day. While overdose deaths are down from record highs, too many young lives are still at risk from fake prescription pills that are often indistinguishable from real ones and are made with fentanyl. Visit fentanylawarenessday.org to learn how you can protect your community and save lives.
