We are sharing this news with bittersweet hearts: Mackenzie Tilton is stepping into an exciting new chapter to pursue a lifelong dream in the restaurant world! Her last official day on full-time staff will be tomorrow.

Since 2017, Mackenzie has given so much to our community—from shaping our story through newsletters and social media to diving into service trips, events, and essential behind-the-scenes work.
While we will miss her deeply in her full-time role, we are thrilled that she will continue supporting our team on a contract basis to assist with key projects during this transition and plans to remain connected to our community long after that!

Make an impact for Lakota students as the new school year begins!

We are collecting the following school supplies as requested by students and their families on the Pine Ridge Reservation:

+ Pencils
+ Binders & dividers
+ Pens
+ Notebook paper
+ Erasers
+ Rulers
+ Markers
+ Backpacks
+ Colored pencils
+ Crayons
+ 5-subject notebooks

Please bring collected items to our Hub (9849 Isabelle Rd Lafayette, CO 80026) by 5pm on August 10th to help Native students start the year strong. Wopila!

It’s been a weekend of service, deep listening, and healing on the Pine Ridge Reservation.

Longtime volunteers joined up with tribal members and a crew of youth from the east coast to deliver firewood and food, paint homes, and sit with Lakota elders to learn with open hearts.

Thankful for the connections made, the firewood lovingly split by RMSEL, the service completed, and the reminder that the work continues in beautiful and challenging ways.

4,415 hours. 264,900 minutes. That’s how much time our volunteers have put into service, reconciliation and cross-cultural connection in this first half of 2026!

From packing food boxes, to repairing homes, planting gardens, and constructing a tiny home for tribal members, to traveling across three reservations and building meaningful relationships, we couldn’t carry out our efforts without them. Wopila (a deep and immeasurable thank you) to all who have given their time this year!

6 days filled with deep connection, healing, and hard work on Hopi & Diné lands.

7 homes repaired (from windows to roofs and walls), dozens of seedlings planted, fire extinguishers and smoke detectors installed, 1/3 of the ancient and sacred Walpi Village re-mudded, a corn field fence replaced - and countless moments of cross-cultural connection and healing.

We are honored to have done this work side by side with local families, friends from the Pine Ridge Reservation, and this beautiful group of human beings from Sierra Club, NCCc and beyond. This is what we can do when we come together to serve, across all that makes us different and all that we share. Wopila, Askwali, Ahéhee’.

So much good work is being completed here on the Hopi & Diné reservations by this crew of volunteers, tribal members, and the local community…. homes repaired, new layers of adobe added to ancient structures, community gardens planted, firewood split.

But, as always, the most meaningful work taking place is the building of relationships.

We are so grateful to see these connections take shape, across all that makes us different and all that we share.

Grateful to be here on Hopi & Diné lands for another week of service, cross-cultural connection, and healing.
