We made a trip to Presque Isle State Park for a short 2 mile hike and we talked hiking rules, environmental impact, checked out local wildlife and wrapped up with bike safety. Then we went to Sara’s for a well earned Ice Cream trip. Really hit the spot on a warm summer evening.

Thanks to the Waterford community for allowing us to serve as the Color Guard for the Memorial Day Parade. Today we had the opportunity to honor the fallen.

Our Troop was chosen to take part in a special flag ceremony in downtown Erie. An American flag has been working its way across Pennsylvania since February and Scouts from each county have been raising it in the County Seat. Our Scouts are among the last to raise this symbol of our nation as a part of this program. We are honored to have been selected for this. They also signed their names to a special Scouting America flag that has accompanied the Stars and Stripes.

Spent the evening with our Charter Organization, the Kiwanis Club of Erie. Their first Spring Fling event was a lot of fun and we got to see more of the people who sponsor our Troop. Thanks for a wonderful night.
