Waterfowl USA Southwestern Lake Erie Chapter (S.W.L.E.C.)

Southwestern Lake Erie Chapter needs dedicated volunteers to help us raise money and complete local habitat improvement projects. Waterfowl U.S.A.

In 2002, a group of local sportsmen and sportswomen joined together to form a chapter of Waterfowl U.S.A., the Southwestern Lake Erie Chapter (S.W.L.E.C.). is a national non-profit organization that is committed to local habitat issues. Therefore, the 80% of the money raised from SWLEC events stays in the local area for habitat projects. We are committed to preserving America’s wetlands and raisin

g local bucks for local ducks. In Michigan, over 60% of the ducks harvested are raised locally in the Great Lakes Region, which is where the SWLEC Chapter focuses its efforts.

Our annual ladies duck/pheasant hunt. Every lady received a waterfowl jacket, hunter orange vest and hat, camo hat, gk duck call, blind bag, game strap, duck Id book, dozen decoys and weights, goose call, hand warmers and lunch provided. An awesome day to introduce 6 new ladies into the hunting community!

The 22nd annual Gibraltar duck hunters association and waterfowl USA southwestern Lake Erie chapter youth duck hunt! 56 kids were treated to a waterfowl hunt followed by lunch donated by Tony packos. Every kid received a duck call from gk calls, hat from monroe du chapter, dozen decoys from the path foundation. Michigan DNR, wildlife division donated the calls.

Erie Mason shop class built 17 new wood duck boxes in their shop class this year. We had them out for a pizza party and they helped install a few to see how they work and presented a nice check to them to help build more for next year!
