We recognize that this tragedy may have a profound impact on many members of our community. Anyone who would like to speak with a crisis counselor can contact Crisis Services at 814-456-2014. Support is available by phone or in person for those who need someone to talk to or help processing these events.

As we collectively grieve the tragic loss of life in our community last night, we recognize the many questions surrounding this fatal shooting.

The City of Erie and Erie Police Dept. are sharing confirmed information to clarify the timeline and address inaccurate reports. We ask everyone to exercise care in sharing unverified information, out of respect for grieving families, and concern for the safety of our community and responding officers.

We are sad to announce we must cancel tonight’s Erie City Moms Season Kickoff.

The Boys & Girls Club started a late-season construction project, and it is taking much longer than expected. Unfortunately, it’s impossible for us to host and feed 200 Moms and kids safely under the circumstances.

Members who RSVPd received a text message notifying them of this change. We have 300+ families on our waiting list—this message is for those of you considering popping in, hoping to get a seat. PLEASE DO NOT SHOW UP TONIGHT 🥺

As soon as we know we have open seats in this year’s amazing Mentoring Circles, we will reach out to you, we promise! 🫡 We are as excited to add you to our community as you are to join! 🩷🩷🩷

This weekend, Erie City Moms is prepping for its Mother Matters Mentoring Circles Kickoff AND helping a working, homeless Mom and her two kids move into their new apartment 👏🏼🩷

Our upcoming Circles include mentoring in:

👉🏽finding and maintaining family-sustaining wage jobs
👉🏽stress management and meaningful connections to mental health providers
👉🏽 training in leadership and soft skills.

While Moms grow, theirs kids are also learning in valuable trusted relationships with our early intervention, church, and business partners. Entire families are changing direction!

We have more than 300 Moms on our mentoring waiting list—it would be irresponsible to add more women and kids to our community.

We need your support to expand now more than ever so we can hire staff, empower volunteers, add space, and transform generations!

We have a little joke around HQ. 📍We say we “break” for summer.

Truth is, our formal 200-person Moms’ Night gets a much-needed power nap —yes— but our amazing community and mentoring never quits!

As we gear up for the launch of 3 all-new Mother Matters Mentoring Circles on Monday—an exciting season of 🌱learning and laughter alongside Mothers and their kids, 🎅🏻holiday memories, 🎓school year wins and losses—and let’s not forget our 🍾🥂10th Anniversary celebration, we’re looking back on all the fun and growth we had together this summer 🌻⛱️🍉

☀️Continued mentorship of 14 Mother Figures and their families—one Momma got a new job, TWO bought their first houses, and one is in our H.O.M.E. Program (and that’s just the beginning for these ladies!!!)

☀️Provided crisis prevention referrals and support to four Mothers and their families

☀️Celebrated our 3rd annual Mothers Making History in partnership with one of our favorite and longest partners Beauty Bar—congratulations again TwoDegree Dee and Brittany Spade-Whipple!

☀️Raised a record $35,628 during The Erie Community Foundation Erie Gives!

☀️Served alongside Chuck Nelson and The Cross | Erie young adult missionaries who have shown up summer after summer to do extraordinary work beside us for nearly TEN YEARS!

☀️Launched Mom&Me MeetUps thanks to Mary Krysiak who stepped up to lead these special play dates!

☀️Hosted our annual Bible study “Women at the Well,” led by board member and past global missionary Diane Kuvshinikov

☀️Partnered with Table of Grace to launch “Praise, Play, and Pray,” a fun, kid-friendly dinner, game, and worship experience for families from all walks of life

☀️Supported 3 families with shelter, food, and disaster recovery during the September storm

☀️Provided 15 kids with their back-to-school uniforms and schools supplies in partnership with Boys & Girls Club of Erie and Erie Free Store

☀️Celebrated the incredible volunteer team and their families who make Erie City Moms’ Continuum of Community possible

☀️Launched a new training program with East Lake Road Alliance Church to equip churches to lead Mentoring Circles starting as early as 2027!

☀️Sat on the blue coach with our new friend Ashley at Erie News Now and talked about postpartum depression and our 2027 resources for mental wellbeing

☀️Provided free child care so mentees could enjoy respite and others could attend much-needed mental health appointments, made possible by our amazing volunteers and partners at DreamBuilders Network and expERIEnce Children's Museum

☀️Served up hot dogs, sweet treats, and memories at our 6th annual potluck!

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼All of that and strategic planning for our fall programming and next 10 years!

So were the doors to Moms Night closed this summer? Yes.

But were we OFF? 🤣🤣🤣

No. We were watering and cultivating everything we planted 2025-2026!

Now the leaves are changing and it’s time to come back together at The Club. If you are a member and want to continue in mentoring—please check your email. If you plan to take the year off, let us know and we will open your seat to a new Momma and her kids!
