FREE SOCCER CAMP for kids 8-14, this Saturday August 1 at the newly opened Gary Horton Field in Savocchio Opportunity Park (E. 18th one block east of Downing Ave). Now eastside kids can pursue their dreams of soccer greatness, with equipment and coaching provided by Erie Sports Center and the Erie United Football Club.

We're honored that Urban Agriculture Week in Pennsylvania kicked off this morning with a visit to the minority-owned GrowErie facility at Savocchio Opportunity Park. Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding toured the facility with staff from Intag, operator of the facility owned by Erie's Minority Community Investment Coalition and members of the local community. UECDC is Erie's leader in the drive to create food security for low-income residents by enabling them to grow food year-round. A community greenhouse nearby is being completed by Intag for four-season use by community members.

Please join us this Friday and Saturday for a big neighborhood cleanup and celebration in the Buffalo Road area. Volunteers will gather at the Quality of Life Learning Center, 2046 E. 19th, and at Burton School. Neighborhood celebration Saturday at 3pm, with food, music and activities for kids.
