Got a garden full of green tomatoes? Don’t let them go to waste! Join us for a fun evening at the beautiful Yellow House where we’ll show you delicious ways to use those late-season tomatoes before the first frost. 🌱

Who took down Bernie Madoff?
Meet Erie's own Harry Markopolos, one of our Sept. 12th honorees:
This fraud Investigator who uncovered the Bernie Madoff Ponzi scheme, was born and raised in Erie. He graduated from Cathedral Preparatory School.
His parents, Louis and Georgia Markopolos, owned multiple restaurants including The New York Lunch. Louis passed away in 2018. His mother died recently.
📚Harry's book "No One Would Listen: A True Financial Thriller, was published in 2010 and became a best seller.

Vice Admiral Matthew J. Kohler is coming home Sept. 12
This Erie native's distinguished 36-year naval career placed him at the forefront of American intelligence, cybersecurity, and information warfare.
He attended Strong Vincent High School in Erie and graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), where he was recognized as an All-American swimmer. He is the son of Joseph and Sally Kohler, both longtime Erie educators.

He has four siblings, including his twin Michael, Ellen Croft, Natalie Kohler, of Erie and Rebecca Johnson and her husband, Gary, of Erie. He worked as a Presque Isle lifeguard.

He retired from active duty in 2020 as a three-star admiral and continues to advise public and private sector organizations on national security and strategic affairs.

Throughout his career, Admiral Kohler remained a proud son of Erie, returning to his hometown on several occasions, including as Mercyhurst University's 2018 commencement speaker and honorary degree recipient.

Marc Blucas is coming home on Sept. 12 📺
He currently stars as George Walter in the Netflix #1 show globally, My Life with the Walter Boys! You might also recognize him from Hallmark movies, And let's not forget Riley Finn on Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Many of us remember him as a star athlete at Girard School District Girard High School. 🏀
Marc was a member of the Pennsylvania Boys AA State Championship basketball team, earned all-state honors and received a sports scholarship to Wake Forest Basketball University.
We’re proud to welcome him back to Yellow Jacket Country! 🐝

Yes, he is coming home. 🏡Come on out to honor him with us.
Meet General Edward Bolton, one of our honorees on Sept. 12! 🇺🇸✈️

The General's parents Edward L. Bolton Sr. and Louise D. Harris Bolton raised seven children. He attended Lincoln Elementary School, Wilson Junior High School and graduated from Academy High School.
He went on to a distinguished career in the U.S. Air Force, working in some of the nation’s most important military, space and aviation programs.

He commanded the 45th Space Wing at Patrick Air Force Base, overseeing operations connected to America’s space launch program. He also served in senior positions involving missile and space systems and ultimately retired from the Air Force in 2013.

He later went on to serve as the Federal Aviation Administration’s associate administrator for NextGen, helping lead the nation’s effort to modernize the air traffic control system. He later served in senior leadership in the aerospace and defense industry and has continued to contribute his expertise to the nation’s aviation and space efforts.

He helped shape both America’s military space program and the future of aviation.
