October is First Responders Month ❤️🚑🚒🚓

Every day, first responders answer the call when our communities need help most. From EMTs, paramedics, and dispatchers to firefighters, law enforcement officers, emergency management personnel, and so many others, these dedicated professionals serve with courage, compassion, and commitment.

This year, First Responders Month carries special meaning for our Erie community. The tragic events of Friday evening served as a sobering reminder of the challenges first responders face and the critical role they play during our community's most difficult moments.

October 28 marks National First Responders Day, a time to recognize the men and women who step forward in moments of crisis and to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others.

At EmergyCare, we're proud to work alongside first responders across northwestern Pennsylvania who make a difference every day. This month, and every month, we thank them for their service, resilience, professionalism, and dedication to keeping our communities safe.

Please join us in keeping those affected by Friday's tragedy in your thoughts and in thanking the first responders who answered the call when our community needed them most.

As we reflect on an incredible event, we are filled with gratitude for the many people who made it possible.

Thank you to our dedicated planning committee, whose months of hard work, creativity, and commitment brought this event to life. Thank you to our day-of volunteers who kept everything running smoothly and enthusiastically welcomed participants at every stop along the way.

A special thank you to our challenge location hosts, who opened their doors, welcomed our teams, and helped create the unique experiences that make EmergyRace unlike any other event.

The 4th annual EmergyRace is coming up soon - Sunday, October 4th.

Before the excitement of race day, we invite you to take a moment to hear the story behind this event.

In this special news interview, Kyle's father, Rick Swain, reflects on Kyle's life, his dedication to serving others as a firefighter and an EmergyCare EMT, and the heartbreaking loss of his son to heat stroke - which may have been prevented if there were trained EMTs available.

Rick shares why the Swain family continues to partner with EmergyCare each year to host this event in Kyle's memory, turning tragedy into a lasting legacy of hope, service, and community support.

Kyle devoted his life to helping others. Through the EmergyRace, his spirit lives on as teams come together, volunteers give their time, sponsors invest in our mission, and supporters help ensure that EmergyCare can continue providing lifesaving emergency medical services throughout our region.

As Rick shares in the interview, there are many ways you can be part of this meaningful event:
✅ Register a team
✅ Volunteer on race day
✅ Make a donation to support the mission

Every act of support honors Kyle's memory and helps us continue the work he cared so deeply about.

Please take a few minutes to watch Rick's heartfelt message, and if you're inspired by Kyle's story, consider joining us for this year's EmergyRace.

But don't delay, there are only 7 team slots left and registration closes for good on Tuesday, September 29th.

Emergyrace will be held on Sunday, October 4. It begins at noon from the Emergycare facility at 1926 Peach Street. The registration fee is $75 for a team of two. For more information and to registe…

💙 A Heartfelt Thank You to Table of Grace Church 💙

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Table of Grace Church for inviting our team to join them for breakfast and worship this past weekend.

Their thoughtfulness, kindness, and words of encouragement meant so much to our EMS professionals. From the pocket coin reminding us that no one fights alone, to the gifts, treats, and prayers, every gesture was a meaningful reminder of the incredible support we receive from our community.

The work our crews do each day is made possible by caring people like those at Table of Grace who take the time to recognize and encourage first responders. Thank you for your hospitality, your generosity, and for keeping our team in your thoughts and prayers.

We are honored to serve a community that supports us so well. ❤️🚑
