Zeta Phi Beta Sorority,Inc.,Rho Sigma Zeta Chapter Welcome to our page. We are the Lovely Ladies of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Rho Sigma Zeta Chapter serving the community of Erie, PA.

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. was founded
January 16, 1920, at Howard University, Washington, D.C. The Klan was very active during this period and the Harlem Renaissance was acknowledged as the first important movement of Black artists and writers in the U.S. This same year the Volstead Act became effective heralding the startof Prohibition and Tennessee delivered the
crucial 36th ratification for

the final adoption of
the 19th amendment giving women the right to
vote. The worst and longest economic recession
to hit the U.S. would define the end of the
decade-The Great Depression. It was within this environment that five coeds
envisioned a sorority which would directly affect
positive change, chart a course of action for the
1920s and beyond, raise consciousness of their
people, encourage the highest standards of
scholastic achievement, and foster a greater
sense of unity among its members. These
women believed that sorority elitism and
socializing overshadowed the real mission for
progressive organizations and failed to address
fully the societal mores, ills, prejudices, and
poverty affecting humanity in general and the
black community in particular. Since its inception, Zeta has continued its steady
climb into the national spotlight with programs
designed to demonstrate concern for the human condition both nationally and internationally. The sorority takes pride in its continued participation in transforming communities through volunteer services from members and its auxiliaries. Zeta Phi Beta has chartered hundreds of chapters worldwide and has a membership of 100,000+.

April is Autism Acceptance Month 💙🧩

The Rho Sigma Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated proudly stands in support of autism acceptance, understanding, and inclusion. This month—and every month—we celebrate the beauty of neurodiversity and uplift the voices of individuals and families within the autism community.

Today, we wear light blue as a symbol of our commitment to autism awareness and acceptance, standing in unity and love.

Let us continue to educate, advocate, and create spaces where everyone is valued, respected, and empowered to thrive. Together, we shine our light by embracing differences and spreading love without limits.

What a jam-packed and meaningful weekend for Zeta! 💙🤍

We kicked things off Friday night with our 3rd Bingo with the Zetas—thank you to everyone who came out and supported!

We then laced up our sneakers and participated in the March of Dimes Walk, walking with purpose for premature babies and their families. đź’ś

To close it all out, we held our Rededication Ceremony, renewing our oath to Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated—recommitting ourselves to service, sisterhood, scholarship, and finer womanhood. A beautiful reminder to always let our Zeta light shine and continue making an impact in our community.

💙🤍 Honoring 50 Years of Sisterhood and Service

Today we had the honor of celebrating Soror Cheryl Polk Keys for an extraordinary milestone — 50 years of membership in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.

Soror Keys officially became a Crystal Dove on March 1, 2026, marking five decades of dedication to our sisterhood, scholarship, service, and finer womanhood.

She was initiated into the Epsilon Eta Chapter on March 1, 1976, at Shippensburg State College (now Shippensburg University), and her commitment to Zeta has continued to inspire generations of Sorors.

Your legacy of leadership, service, and unwavering love for Zeta is truly appreciated and admired. Thank you for the countless ways you have uplifted our sisterhood and community over the past 50 years.

The Rho Sigma Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated is proud to support young women in our community through our Books for Pearls Academic Scholarship. 💙🤍

This scholarship recognizes female graduating seniors from:

đź“š Northwest PA Collegiate Academy
đź“š Charter School of Excellence

Eligible applicants must:
• Have a minimum 2.75 GPA
• Be accepted to an accredited college or university for the upcoming academic term

This Founders’ Day weekend, the ladies of Rho Sigma Zeta Chapter honored our legacy through sisterhood, service, and community engagement—the Zeta way.

✨ Friday, 1/16 – Founders’ Day
We kicked off the celebration with dinner and fellowship, sharing laughter, love, and reflection with Sorors as we honored 106 years of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.

🧣 Saturday – Global Day of Service
In the spirit of Service, we distributed warming kits to residents at St. Patrick’s Haven and the EUMA Overflow Shelter, providing comfort and care to our unhoused neighbors during the winter season.

⛪ Sunday – Faith & Fellowship
We joined worship service at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, giving thanks and continuing our commitment to faith, community, and unity.

✊🏾 Monday – MLK Day of Action
We proudly stood in solidarity at the Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day March, honoring Dr. King’s legacy and reaffirming our commitment to justice, equity, and collective progress.

From fellowship to service, worship to action—this weekend was a beautiful reminder that Zetas don’t just celebrate history, we live it.
