We’re hiring at Erie DAWN!

We’re looking for a Housing & Community Resource Specialist to work alongside women in our program as they build housing stability, develop practical skills, connect with community resources, and work toward self-sufficiency.

This is a relationship-focused role for someone who is resourceful, organized, compassionate, and a strong problem-solver. You’ll connect women with resources, work with landlords and community partners, support housing stability, and help turn goals into practical next steps.

If you’re someone who enjoys connecting people, building relationships, finding solutions, and making a tangible difference, this could be the role for you.

Fantastic place to donate large items and home supplies!

Please bring donations to the back of the building at the north-facing loading dock and ring the bell at the top of the stairs for assistance.​

We kindly ask that for all pick-ups that you consider making a free will donation to offset the cost of fuel, repairs and upkeep to the box truck, and staff costs.

We suggest $10-15 for pick-ups up to 15 miles from our office and $20-25 for farther pick-ups.​

Items we accept for donation:
Household goods: kitchen ware and appliances (stoves, fridges, microwave, small appliances), crockery, kitchen cabinets, wood furniture (chests, dressers, tables, chairs, dining room set, bedframes), ornaments, picture frames, paintings, prints, rugs, microwave, toilet, tubs, showers, sinks, lamps, fans, etc.

Building material: siding, wood, tiles, trim, full cans of paint, doors, windows, drywall, insulation

Garden: furniture and tools, pots, snowblower, shovels

Holiday and event decorations.

Tools: handheld, metal, and electric tools

Lost food in last week's storm? If you receive SNAP benefits, you may be eligible for replacement benefits.

To get replacement SNAP/EBT Benefits:
⏰ You must request replacement benefits within 10 days of when the disaster occurred, so by September 13, 2026.
📞 Contact Erie County Assistance Office (CAO) at 814-461-2000 or call the Statewide Customer Service Center at 1-877-395-8930.
📝 Complete a replacement affidavit documenting how much food you lost. Forms are available through the Erie County Assistance Office or at www.dhs.pa.gov/SNAP.
📲 Submit your completed affidavit through COMPASS or the myCOMPASS PA mobile app.
