Rooted in the strength of the unique human-to-animal bond, we are proud to present additional information on our variety of educational, therapeutic and animal-assisted therapy dog programs developed to reach beyond traditional forms of rehabilitation and treatment. Our programs and services are offered nationwide.

Good Morning! Today is the day-get ready for Erie Gives Day with Therapy Dogs United!

Your Erie Gives Day donations help us maintain exceptional therapy-dog standards and provide volunteers with the latest training and guidance.

Before visiting across the Erie community, our therapy dogs complete key preparations, often starting with obedience training and then passing two challenging evaluations: the AKC Canine Good Citizen National Exam and the Therapy Dogs United Exam. After certification, handlers continue ongoing education in therapy-dog standards and policy– ensuring that they are always prepared to visit with you.

The preparation doesn’t stop there... Before each visit, our dogs take a bath, brush their fur, do their nails and even brush their teeth to ensure they arrive looking their best—some even put on gel and cologne!
