**FREE DELIVERY is finally ready for adoption!**

And yes, that really is his name.

Free Delivery was found yelling his little head off in a field by a delivery driver, who thankfully stopped to help him. He came to us with some stubborn upper respiratory symptoms that just wouldn’t completely go away.

After antibiotics and some investigating, we finally found the culprit, a polyp in his ear!

He had surgery, spent some time on steroids, dealt with a little ear infection that needed packed, and then we waited to make sure that pesky polyp didn’t come back. And it hasn't! So he is officially ready for adoption.

Free Delivery is:

• Combo tested negative
• Polyp-free
• Extremely snuggly
• A lover of other cats
• Willing to tolerate basically whatever nonsense you have planned for him

Seriously, this is an EASY cat. He is sweet, cuddly, social, loves other cats, and we think he could fit into just about any home.

Our foster homes are full of kittens, adults, bonded pairs, lap cats, weirdos, chaos agents, and everything in between. They’re vetted, loved, and ready for homes of their own.

Maybe you’ve been thinking about adopting. Maybe you’ve been waiting for the right time. Maybe your cat needs a cat.

Cleopatra and Taz are a bonded mother-and-son pair looking for a home together.

Cleopatra is the mom, and Taz is her handsome boy. They can be a little shy when they first meet you, but once they feel comfortable, they are absolute sweethearts.

They love playing, exploring, and making each other—and their people—happy.
These two are so much fun and would love a patient family who will give them time to settle in and show their personalities. They must be adopted together.

Remember Mac?

Mac was returned to us in need of immediate medical care. He was quickly diagnosed with FIP and extremely jaundice. After 84 days of treatment and 84 days of observation Mac was declared cured! His foster parents decided to adopt him and he is doing amazing. He loves his furry siblings and we are so happy to see him thriving! 🤩

Let’s talk about spay-abort.

It’s uncomfortable. It’s emotional. And it is an incredibly important part of animal rescue.

Until you do this work, it is hard to understand the scale of what we are facing.

Until you’ve held a dying kitten in your hands while doing everything you possibly can to keep them alive. Until you’ve watched an exhausted mother try to nurse a litter while her own body is depleted. Until you’ve gotten the message about a litter of kittens needing somewhere to go while every foster home you have is already full. Until you’ve had to say no because there is quite literally nowhere left to SAFELY AND RESPONSIBLY put another cat. Until you’ve watched kittens be born outside only to die from infection, parasites, starvation, predators, weather, or disease. You don’t fully see it.

We cannot adopt our way out of this crisis. Period.

There are simply too many cats being born and not enough homes, fosters, rescuers, veterinary resources, or money to keep up. That is why we support spay-abort.

A spay-abort is exactly what it sounds like: a pregnant cat is spayed, which also ends the pregnancy. And yes, we understand why that makes people uncomfortable. We don't expect everyone to hear about it for the first time and immediately feel okay about it.

But rescue has taught us that preventing a litter from being born can mean preventing suffering while also protecting the cat who is already here. Every litter prevented means fewer kittens competing for already-limited homes. Fewer kittens entering an overwhelmed shelter and rescue system. Fewer kittens being born outside. Fewer sick neonates requiring around-the-clock care. And one female cat who can no longer continue the cycle of pregnancy after pregnancy.

And when resources are finite, those resources can instead go toward the animals who are already here and desperately need us.

Spay-abort isn't something we WANT to do it's something we HAVE to do. We support it because we see what happens when there are more lives than our community has the resources to save.

If we want fewer kittens suffering, fewer cats euthanized for lack of space, fewer overwhelmed rescues and fewer community cats struggling to survive, we have to address the source.

KITTENS, KITTENS, AND MORE KITTENS!

We still have a lot of kitten available for adoption! These little ones are playful, affectionate, curious, and full of personality. They have been loved and cared for in foster homes and are ready to meet their families.

⚠️ WARNING. WOUND PHOTO. ⚠️

Meet Peter Pocket.

Peter came in as an emergency intake with a massive laceration on his leg. The good news is that the wound is surprisingly clean, so right now we’re monitoring it closely to see if it continues healing without sutures or a drain. He’s also started on antibiotics.

And then there’s Peter’s belly.

It is absolutely enormous, especially compared to the rest of him. He is severely emaciated, so when the vet saw him, wet FIP was immediately a concern. But after examining him, there was no fluid in his abdomen, which completely surprised us. We’re still trying to figure out what is causing his strange belly, and a heavy parasite load is one possibility.

The picture is honestly wild, but it shows exactly what we’re talking about.

Peter is the sweetest boy through all of this. We’re hoping we can get him comfortable, figure out what’s going on, and help this little guy start feeling like himself.

Scrambelina Update! Our dear Scram still has a very small defect left and another surgery is recommended. This is definitely a bummer and we were hoping we were out of the woods. Her surgeon would like to do what is called an auricular cartilage autograft (or an ear cartilage graft). Which would hopefully finally close the hole in her palate. Some people have asked and we have definitely pondered at what point do we say no more surgeries and that is such a good question. This is something every rescuer has to ponder and it’s never an easy decision. For Scram, this will significantly improve her quality of life. With the hole being way smaller now, the food gets stuck way more than before and is very uncomfortable for her.

The good news is that Scram has such a great team on her side. Between board certified surgeons, the entire staff at Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital and her main Vet in Erie - there is no shortage of love and care for her.

We will continue to keep everyone updated on her as we plan our next steps!
