Let’s paint pumpkins! 🎃🎨🍂

Join us this Thursday for Collective Community, where we’ll be hosting a Pumpkin Painting Craft Night!

Collective Community is our monthly gathering for the creative crowd. This month, we’re hosting a paint-your-own-pumpkin family friendly event! Thanks to Finnell Farms, we’ll have plenty of pumpkins here for you and your friends/family to paint! $10 a pumpkin - no door fee!

While you’re here, check out our current exhibition. On view through the end of October is DIVERSITY & UNITY, a collection of works by Eerie Eric Fargiorgio.

DIVERSITY & UNITY is a watercolor series that celebrates the idea that there is room for all of us - no matter how different we may look, where we come from, or what makes us who we are. It’s playful, strange, honest, and ultimately a reminder that difference is nothing to apologize for.

Come paint a pumpkin, mingle with fellow creatives, grab a drink at the bar, and spend some time with the beautiful work currently filling our gallery. 🧡

All are welcome!

Pop culture gives us plenty to talk about. So why not actually talk about it?

Panels & Parables, hosted by Dr. Rhonda Matthews, is a new popular culture lecture series taking the comics, music, television, and news we consume seriously - exploring how they shape power, identity, culture, and each other.

This past Tuesday, we gathered for a conversation about oppression, rage, and the remaking of U.S. feminist thought.

At 1020, we want to be a space where people can gather freely, ask questions, share ideas, and have conversations that might not happen anywhere else. No matter the topic, we believe there’s value in making room for people to think out loud together.

Next up: Tuesday, October 27

WE NEED BI LOVE ISLAND: Q***r Representation in Television Dating Shows - with featured scholar Addisen Mitchell.

Come be a part of the conversation. 🖤

Introducing DIVERSITY & UNITY: Watercolor Paintings by Eerie Eric Fargiorgio

“It’s ok if you have claws or fangs or born scaly or born slimy or with fur or are colored, green, or blue, or red, or born with one eye, or a hunchback, or you were built in that different laboratory by a different doctor with busted up stitches, or with tentacles , or speak only in growlese, in sneezese or in beastie, or was not born on mars, it’s ok to all be in the same room - sit at the same table. Nope, we will not apologize, we will be proud, for it’s humans that are the real monster.”
