The October 21 Board of Education agenda includes the following items totaling $431,391:

💰 $50,000 for an SEL/Restorative Justice Consultant
💰 $39,780 for Restorative Justice Services
💰 $24,000 for Comprehensive S*x Ed Books
💰 $317,611 for K–4 Art Books with DEI & SEL

Meanwhile, the district has announced school closures and teacher layoffs due to financial challenges. Parents and taxpayers deserve transparency and answers about spending priorities!

Our boots are already on the ground. AWARE takes our fight for parental rights to a whole new level.

As Moms for Liberty CEO and Co-Founder Tina Descovich explained, AWARE helps identify districts supporting parental rights and choosing strong curricula—and those that aren’t. Chapters are already digging into school board agendas and finding plenty to celebrate, and plenty that demands action.

🎓🇺🇸 SCHOOL CHOICE JUST FOUND AN UNEXPECTED ALLY: NEW YORK’S DEMOCRATIC GOVERNOR!

😮 And the teachers unions aren’t happy about it.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul announced Friday that her state will participate in President Trump’s new federal Education Freedom Tax Credit program, despite strong opposition from teachers unions, including the American Federation of Teachers.

🏫 Why? Because public school students can benefit from school choice, too!

📚 Beginning in 2027, the program will allow eligible taxpayers to receive federal tax credits of up to $1,700 annually for contributions to qualified scholarship organizations.

💰 Those scholarships can help families cover educational expenses, including:

🎓 Private school tuition
📖 Tutoring and academic support
🏫 After-school educational programs
✏️ Other qualifying educational services

Hochul says the program could bring millions in additional educational resources to New York families without reducing existing state or local school budgets.

Meanwhile, union leaders continue to oppose the program, arguing that it threatens public education.

🤔 Here’s the bigger question: Why should expanding educational opportunities be a partisan issue?

Supporting parental choice doesn’t mean opposing public schools. And supporting public schools shouldn’t mean opposing parental choice.

👏 Credit to Governor Hochul for recognizing that educational opportunity should come before political differences.

🇺🇸 Parents deserve options. Students deserve opportunities. And every child deserves an education that meets their needs.
